Buying a 2013 X5 X drive 35i

It has 27,710 miles and going for $31,900. What do you think?

If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Sounds little on the high side for an outdated model. Best to check e70 people.

You'll be better off with the E70 folks but it all depends which options it has, warranty, etc.

Thanks everyone, I also posted in the e70 section. Since I'm here, my thinking for this outdated model was that all the kinks were worked out on the e70. Do I really want to buy a first year F15? Well here it is, still on the fence, http://exotic-motors.ebizautos.mobi/...-15428796.html

I just looked up how much the dealer paid for it at the auction on 8/24, and based on that information, I can tell you the asking price is very fair. Good luck.

Thanks P1. Another reason why I only buy BMWs, the forums are phenomenal!

Had a 13 E70 diesel. Nothing, absolutely nothing but trouble. Blew
the buying last model run having all the kinks out was in turn the
worst BMW owned. A F15 14, would probably be the same
reliability wise as the 13. Its really a freshen similar chassis.

Is the air bag fixed. They couldn't sell my trade till fixed the air
bag. LOL That is the least of the problems someone will get

Were the problems diesel related? Can you list the issues? Just curious. Thank you.

Update: we passed on this X5.

1) the car smelled like vomit. I thought it was the leather seats but my wife said it can't be the leather seats. 2) lift gate wasn't working and they are taking it to BMW to get it fixed. Really, you don't check that out and have it fixed before offering it up for sale? and 3) wife does not like oyster seats with black carpets and black trim on the outside.

Oh well. Thanks everyone. The hunt continues.

They bought it on 8/24 and it was for sale the very next day. They probably had little time to clean it properly.

Did you also see it didn't have navigation? That would have been an immediate deal breaker for me.

No navigation, but backup warning indicator. Don't really need navigation, use my iPhone for that. Besides, never liked anyone's built-in navigation. There is always an issue with it.

Sure, but you need to think of future resale value. I never used navigation in the E70, but use it all the time in my F15 because it's so much more advanced. If you don't have navigation, you also get a much smaller screen.

If you're going to be paying $30,000 plus for an X5, it better come with some nice creature comforts. The one you were looking at was a very basic X5.

When I buy a car/SUV I keep it until it dies which is around 8-10 years. I also DIY so maintaining it will be cheap. If it had the creature comforts I'm sure it wouldn't be near 30k. The way I look at it, I was getting a 59k BMW X5 with 6 cylinder, twin turbo, low mileage, 7 months left on the warranty, for 30k. I can live without keyless entry, navigation, etc. By the way it is not THAT stripped. It has leather, power seats, Backup warning indicator, huge pano moonroof, Bluetooth, I-drive, premium sound, and heated seats. (I know, some of this is standard equipment.). But seriously, navigation and comfort access is a deal breaker? You guys are high maintenance.

Yeah, you'll find that the E70/F15 folks are pretty demanding when it comes to the options on their vehicles. Watch when a new owner introduces themselves and claims they just bought a "fully loaded" X5. We immediately ask for the VIN number and start seeing what all it has!

Garage List
Weirdly a lot of my friends say my car is fully loaded, but I see lots of missing options: headlight washers, ventilated seats, steering wheel paddle shifters, active cruise control, night vision, DHP. I mean they see my comfort seats, LED headlights, V8 motor and that's bling bling very loaded to them.
