I am so close to ordering a Space Gray X5, but then I see a black one and I really want to order the Carbon Black. My main reservation is the keeping it clean, and the fact that I live in Houston, TX and it gets rather warm during the summer. Anyways, very good looking X5!

Definitely get Carbon Black! Such a great colour for the X5. Mine is Sapphire Black Metallic, by the way. I'm in Texas also, and it stays cooler in the F15 than my E70 which was Alpine White.

And I personally find the Sapphire Black Metallic very easy to keep clean.

Yea I am really wanting to get the Carbon Black. I was planning on getting the Space Gray because it seems like it would be the easiest to keep clean and it would not get quite as hot as the CBM. But, it seems everyone has a Space Gray on this forum and where I drive. I hardly ever see a CBM. The heat though is my main concern.

Yes the color black absorbs more heat but why are you worried about the exterior? As long as you have your windows tinted and have a lighter colored interior, I think you would be fine.

The windows will be tinted without a problem, the interior color though may be a problem. More than likely I was going to go with the black interior. On my current vehicle I have a chocolate brown interior and I didn't know if I wanted to do that again.

I wouldn't think twice about it: get Carbon Black Metallic. There are two hotels here in town that have fleets of Space Gray Metallic X5s. For that reason alone, I couldn't get one. My dad just bought a 40e, and it's Space Gray also. Lovely colour, but I think CBM is far superior! And I have the darkest legal tint here for Texas, and it doesn't get any hotter than any other car would. And I have the Nappa Mocha leather interior.

How do you like the Nappa Mocha leather? How has it held up for you so far with stains or damage?

I really like it. Do keep in mind that everything is covered in leather, and it's the smooth leather so you have to be a bit more careful with it if you wear jackets with big zippers on it, or wear a big watch etc.

But with 30K on the ticker, it still looks wonderful and it's incredibly easy to keep clean. Once a week, I just give it a spritz with Swissvax Leather Cleaner to keep it in top shape.

Which wood grain do you have? You have a very nice looking X5! I like the mocha but it is an extra $1950. I am not so sure if it is really worth it for me. I am not a fan of the Terra Dakota (from pics, maybe different in person), so more than likely I will go with the black. I know for sure I am going with the multi contour seats after lurking on this forum for the past year. That and the M Sport Suspension.

Is it an m-sport or an x-line you are looking at? I would definitely go for SG on a m-sport, but on the X-line i prefer black.

Check out Atomic80's X5. Great pictures of m-sport in space grey:

Anyhow, I'm sure it will be awesome!

I am going to be getting the M Sport with the 20in wheels. I would love for the dealer to work with me on swapping them for the 21in X5M wheels for a reasonable price but I doubt I will have much luck. Because of the cost of the Nappa Mocha I will be more than likely getting the Black interior.

Concur completely. You don't see many CBM X5s around and it is such a beautiful color. For what it's worth, we have the CBM with Ivory Dakota and Fineline Oak - we have had it for about two months and I have gotten many compliments from people on the color combo. I would get it again without a doubt. Everyone has their own taste but I would urge anyone considering CBM to think about the white leather interior.

I did not really consider the Ivory only because it seems like it would become dirty so quickly. Plus I wear jeans a lot and I am worried that they would bleed into the seats.

We have a 135i with Lemon Boston Leather and it's not any harder to keep clean than my Nappa Mocha.
