BMW Coding Thread

It seems like I'm able to get connected to the car but after a few minutes the LAN on my laptop shows as disconnected. Unplugging and repligging the OBD works, but then again in a few minutes it drops.

What should the car be doing? Running? On but not running? Maybe a bad esys cable?

Did u check if your anti virus software is disabled? Where did u buy your cable?

Hello Guys! First post here and very keen on getting some coding done on my new X5!

What is the latest ESYS and PSdZDATA versions now?

I would be grateful if Shawn or any other knowledgable guys can send me links to the programs needed for coding!

Got my issues figured out, seemed to go smoothly if I have the car on but not actually running. Thanks everyone for the help, it wasn't as bad as it looked at first.

anyone figure out how to do trailer coding? i got the zoom, but have a trailer light failure warning, which i think is common until its coded?

issue with coding. i have led adaptive headlights but when they're coded for EU operation i cannot code the corona rings to not dim and also cannot remove the side marker lights. anyone else run into this issue?

Do you guys know if this is a USA or Euro Spec? Does it have the anti-dazzle feature?

When I lock the car with the fob the mirrors fold instantly. When locking with CA I have to hold for about a second, anyway to make it instant also?

Have you tried changing the werte values of KOMFORT_SCHLIESSEN to 00?

Yes, that's how the mirrors fold up instantly from the lock key on the fob.

The reality is that if you only touch the door handle less that 1/2 sec the locks will close and the mirrors will fold. I did this test yesterday many times. IF I only put my finger for less than that the locks close but the mirrors stay unfolded. Need to keep your finger at least 1/2 sec. No other way.

Makes sense, only issue is the the sunroof shade starts to close just slightly each time. I guess no way to have the best of both worlds.

The car can be coded in such a way that one can minimize the initiation but not completion of various (un)folding, rolling up (down), and closing (opening). The mirrors are the only all-or-nothing component. Windows, sunshades, and moonroofs require holding of CA or FOB until completed desired action. On most vehicles, coding for CA and FOB action cannot be separated.

I was not sure by your statement whether you want the moonroof to close, partially or completely or at all, when you lock car and fold mirrors. There are the following time values (KMFRT may be found as KOMFORT):

Code:

KMFRT_OEFF_HINTEN Werte=05
KMFRT_OEFF_SHD Werte=23
KMFRT_OEFFNEN Werte=19
KMFRT_SCHLIESSEN Werte=0F
KMFRT_SCHL_VORNE Werte=05
KOMFORT_SCHL_SHD Werte=23

It is possible that adjustment in these werte values can give you your desired effect. Specifically, KMFRT_SCHL_SHD (delay between closing front windows and SunRoof) and KMFRT_OEFF_SHD (delay between opening rear windows and SunRoof) may be of interest.
