I got a quote from a dealer here in Vancouver for $2044 including $265 of coding and 12% in applicable taxes. I know that when converted to USD it may not seem that bad but this was the cost even when the exchange was closer to 1:1.
MPPK has been ordered! Even managed a small discount on the kit.

Congrats! I think you will appreciate the additional power and torque!

I keep on reading this post over and over and don't think I can avoid it anymore. This was another regret at the time of ordering which was $1500 CAD. Can someone share some recent Canadian costs. I guess I'll make it a Christmas gift to myself as I don't think the wife would appreciate this as her gift.

You guys still happy. Is the exhaust sound more pronounced as time goes on. Ultimately I just want to enhance the sound bit without going into a MPPE. Obviously the HP pick up is appreciated.

dubsesd has both MPPK and MPE on his 35i in Canada.. maybe he can offer you information on approx. costs.. as far as exhaust sound with MPPK, it isn't noticeable if that is what you are looking for. I did notice a slight burble sound after revs but its not noticeable unless you are looking for the sound. Here is a video with my stock Msport exhaust with MPPK. You can hear the bubbling between 1:10 - 1:16.

I had driven it for about a week without the MPPK, mainly in sport mode. It's insane...previously I had a 2013 X5 35i m sport and this new one is unbelievably better.

With the MPPK the X5 has a deeper rumble and definitely has more get up and go. I think sport mode is more composed now. Throttle response is heavier and you can really feel the extra torque. MPPK has removed the slight jerkyness that sport mode had before.

Really it's confusing that the MPPK doesn't come stock on the m-sport
I see the digital gauge goes from 320 to 400 HP, which is weird because stock I thought it is 300 and goes to 320 with power kit...why does read 400 HP?

X5FX Since you had MPPK coded in your driveway and not by a dealer, I'd be interested to know if it is permanently coded (like it would be if the dealer did it), and if not, can the code be re-used to re-code it back in?

My understanding is the code provided with your MPPK purchase is a one time only use and it cannot be reused again.

Hello Diper, can you comment about your experience with the MPPK on the 30d? I own one and wanted to know if it's really worth it

I'm told that the other lines can be coded but unfortunately you wouldn't be able to test that at the dealer.
Not sure about different transmissions, my X5 30d X-line came with Eco mode, Comfort mode, Sport mode and Sport + mode, do all lines come with all this choices?

Not the same thing I was talking about. All X5 has the driving modes Eco comfort and sport standard. Msport lines come with a sports transmission (different shifter and more aggressive shift points) people say that it can be coded. If you get the upgraded suspension like the adaptive m suspension then you get an additional driving mode sports+ which disengage the dsc. You can also change/configure the driving mode characteristics with the upgraded suspension on the chassis and drivetrain.

Hello Motex,

With the regards to the diesel MPPK. The package includes an intercooler upgrade and larger front discs also, as my front discs where almost new I asked for a discount and got a significant one (just as a tip).
The MPPK kit itself, I would discribe as subtle as the car is just a split millisecond quicker in it's respons and I get the impression that when pressing harder some shiftpoints may have been choosen differently, but when cruising along you will not notice any difference (which is just what I wanted), when pressing the peddle to the floor the FULL power is definitly their, although the torque and horsepower increase is not huge it makes the Car more nimble (especially with a higher load like the whole family)

Is it worth it? I enjoy it, but bear in mind that BMW is not in this for free and ofcourse they make a profit. But I do not mind paying the fee for Some emotions.

Furthermore the upgrade came in handy as my front discs needed to be replaced due to vibrations when braking at higher speeds (and braking light). Already changed my front discs twice in 51.000km due to this fact under warranty.

Attempting to locate a Bmw dealer in Las Vegas

Living in Las we only have two dealerships here. I am interested in installing the Mppk upgrades. Has anyone had this installed here, if so what was the price of install.

Negotiate the price with them.. the decent prices I've seen and gotten myself is between $180 - $230.

We all know at this point about the benefits of the Mppk, costs, etc. so I ask a very ignorant question at this point: I have over 8k miles on my 35i. Is there a potential drawback in adding Mppk later in the engines life rather than early on? Could there be a lack of effectiveness on the tune? At what point does the engine begin to show loss of HP.

I noticed that during winter the car seems less peppy even in sports mode, so not sure if that's attributed to weather or engine finally 'settling' after being run for a year.

I want to install Mppk but figuring out if I should wait till spring or not bother at all at this point due to age of engine. 8k doesn't seem like a lot of miles but just asking.

I wouldn't expect too much drop in HP on a BMW engine. Totally different from british cars, and if so certainly not the first 10 years. I tested the topspeed in Germany a couple of weeks ago and it was above what is stated in the manual, I should have looked at the GPS speed as Well, but forget. But 244 indicated is fast enough for me.

Friction in the drivetrain reduces substantially in the first few thousands miles. Car is likely faster now than it was when you got it/MPPK'd it... it's more likely that you're getting used to it.

Loss of compression from wear would take many years (or something catastrophic failing) to manifest.

I think I may need to go the MPPK roue as well.. I installed the burger tuning JB4 and still have that annoying turbo lag. The car feels more responsive (map2) but still not fast.
Does any know if the Jb4 can be put on top of the MPPK ? double tune :-)

Thanks a lot, still not decided to spend that kind of money on such a small increase of power, after all, my car is brand new, and I like how it rides, maybe after I get used to it, an MPPK will worth it.

I have MPPK installed and have Racechip Tune stacked and so far it is great.
My X5 35i is pretty quick
