F15 Stiff I Drive Contoller Issues
Just had my I Drive rotating controller replaced for the second time due to some hard/stiff/binding issues. Don't know if its a cold weather related thing, but now that I'm out of warranty (50K miles) I sure don't want to have to pay out of pocket should this occur again. If this is a know issue do you think BMWNA will stand behind this? What a stupid question. Am I the only one with this issue?

I've had this issue on my 2010 535i but it corrected itself. Mine would be hard to spin / rotate through the menus and eventually it rotates normally after a few moment later.
I've had 2 BMW's since ( 2013 E70 X5 and current 2015 F15 X5 ) and so far not had the iDrive issues.

I had that problem, about 15k miles. It wasn't cold related, as mine happened last summer. Dealer replaced it, no problem. Hasn't recurred since. This is the only problem I've had with the car, so I'm not complaining. However, given the complexity of these vehicles and the cost for repairs, I don't want to own one out of warranty. Haven't decided yet, I have another year and a half to decide, but I will either trade it in for a new one or buy an extended warranty, but will not own it after warranty expiration.

My idrive controller is having this issue now along with my m-sport steering wheel threads unraveling - the dealer is replacing the entire steering wheel under warranty and they say I'll have to let them look at the idrive controller before replacing - I'm sure they'll just replace it....not sure why the idrive controller sticks sometimes or gets tight when spinning but then gets easy again...puzzling
