xdrive3.5 staggered setup?

can you do a staggered setup on an xdrive3.5? Wheel size are 20x9 and 20x10.5.

Yes.
The M Sport comes staggered.

All Msport with 20" wheel option are staggered regardless of Xdrive or SDrive. Not 100% sure on the other lines if you get staggered or not with 20" wheel option. I think you do.

I believe they can all be shod with 275/40R20 315/35R20. My 2017 X5 xDrive40e non-Msport came from the factory with 20" staggered tires.

OEM wheels
Front 20 x 10 offset 40mm
Rear 20 x 11 offset 37mm

Those tires should be fine.
Just a quick look at tire rack shows 275/40/20 tires require a minimum 9" rim
And 315/35/20 tires require a minimum of 10.5 rim

Since it's same size as oem, you should be good

The non-Msport versions also come staggers in 20" configuration.

Yes you can. That's my preference actually, I like the X-Line with OEM 20s and flares over the M-Sport body.
