I had one, a 2008. It was probably the most trouble free of my BMWs.

Same here... outside of a EVAP canister being replaced and the rear back-up camera being replaced for flickering there were no issues with it. I regret selling it because it did everything well and was far more engaging than any other SUV/SAV of this size.

So are we saying the X5M50d is not a 5 ltr diesel engine
Better go change my order quick before production!

It is not. Just 3.0L Diesel with 3 turbo.

Yeah but without turbos, BMW would be making 4 cylinder M3's that no one will buy.

On the crazy turbo front, the new M750d runs a four turbo 3L I6 setup!

Due to the EPA and auto regulations, cars need to meet certain fuel efficiency... hence the smaller engine and adding turbos.

I predict next M3 will be a PHEV...now, before y'all hang me on a wire for this comment, it can be done without turbos AND be exciting....

If I mistakenly write 5.0 it is because I always wanted a 'five point O.' Now I'm stuck with two four point fours which doesn't sound nearly as cool.
