You're preaching to the choir, naturally. I'm just bitter/regretting not getting the 20" setup from the get-go.
Just had to buy a new set of wheels for my DD last week because a pothole irreparably bent my (no-longer available) OZs.

My photoshop skill sucks, but this is what I'm thinking if I'm going to powder coat my 467m for winter to give a two tone look. What do you guys think?

Makes them look too skinny and smaller still IMO. Keep 'em stock for the winter and pray for an early spring.

it'll always look small, but at least it won't look as bland (which is the thing that I don't like about the 467m), or I can simply make it all black.

I would suggest all black or leave them silver. The two two tone color makes them look like aftermarket wheels (AC schintzer) . The stock wheels look small but these are going to look even smaller.

You have to call the 800 number and confirm if or when the X5 will be handed to the trucking company by then it took me about 2 days for delivery to New Jersey.
I suspect similar at your location give or take 1 day. Congrats! I know that feeling

Mine was in that status for a little over a day then I got the call from Eugene. He sent me a text with a pic when it arrived...

Congrats.

Also, you're gonna get a tin of chocolate chip cookies in the mail from Elmhurst. Don't you dare throw them away... They're a gift from God.

Thanks man! Eugene just emailed me saying my X5 will be there on Friday!

Now I'll need to figure out a time to drop off the MPPK and MPE, and man, my wheels are not here yet

Drop it off before so it can be installed before you take delivery. And what wheels did you decide on?

lol.

Can't wait to the see the wheels mounted. Did you go with 22"s or 23"s? I've only see those wheels in 23" size.

Better order a good wheel brush cause you are going to need it lol

I got the 22", 23" would be too much and too risky for the road condition here as the tires get thinner

You better cross your fingers when you see potholes. Your stomach is going to sink the first time you hit one...

@hamh recommend you get a consumer-grade version of Opti-Coat or similar other sealant. I used Endura Gloss on the new wheels for my DD and the first wash this past weekend was a breeze. Granted, you still need to use a mitt/brush, but it was super easy to clean the wheels. With that many closely-spaced spokes on your new wheels, sealing them when they are brand new will go a long way in keeping them clean. Barrels especially.

good suggestion! I'll definitely do that :-)

But will it affect the finish of the wheel itself? let's say if it is satin or matt finish, will it make the wheel gloss?

Oooh, good question. I'm not sure as my new wheels are silver with machined faces and clear on top. Unless you're going full matte finish, isn't there always a clear layer on top, even for satin?

I could Plasti Dip something for you and then apply the sealant and see if it becomes shiny.

Edit: sealant system I used is called DuraGloss, not Endura Gloss.

http://www.formymercedes.com/Duraglo...l_Products.asp

Autogeek sells it as well. Very easy to work with/apply. Will see how well it holds up over the winter.

Actually, this was discussed by previous E70 owners.. Me being one.
I noticed and am very happy with significantly reduced brake dust on the F15 versus E70.
