LCI?

I was hit from behind by an AUDI last week. My X5 M50d is still drivable and it will be fixed. This made me thinking though. I drive a lot, almost 80000km/50000miles so far in about 1.5 years

Should I trade it in for a new after it is fixed or should I keep it for the planned 3 years?
When is the LCI coming?
Are there any rumors of updates for the M50d engine?

What do you estimate the difference in residual value will be?

Between an X5 with 80k or 160k?

I would expect an LCI for 2017 but haven't seen a lot of info on it yet, but 2017 would be the normal timeframe for it.

Meaning MY2018 arriving mid-year 2017.

Also, here in the US, if car has less than 60k miles, they can re-sell it as CPO, so you will typically get better trade-in value.

Based on the pics, your X5 looks like it sustained minimal damage if any..

I highly suspect this article is inaccurate, but you never know???? Wouldn't we have seen test mules of a new X5 already, but the X7 may throw a wrench in the mix?

it appears that the F15 will be skipped over for LCI and a new X50 (G50) will be released late 2017.

Not sure how true all this is but it looks like their may not be an LCI for this current x5 !!!

I've read other things with much more detail in their reasoning and details of the truck but this was the easiest to find.

I'm an automotive designer and have worked on vehicle projects that where already tooled and ready for prime time only to be canceled literally months before release so it could totally happen and all BMW would loose is some tooling for a simple facelift.

So this could happen easily.

On another interesting note my dealer hinted to this and they are already having meetings on the new "G" model

If one is to believe this motortrend report, there is a new 2017 X5 coming using the 7-series platform: http://www.motortrend.com/news/next-...form-7-series/

If that is true bye bye X5 for me. That's too damn big for my taste.

It probably won't be bigger as platforms can be sized accordingly plus they are planning the x7 so that will be the full size beast!

These articles are concerning, mainly on the value of the existing car. These rumors that I thought were silly, now seem to be more realistic. With the face lift of some Audi models I have heard that more significant changes are made. If the X5 shreds a lot of weight it will of course be a more superior car to the existing ones...

Which also means that the earlier spy shots that were reported to be the X5 but some thought to be the X3 might just turn out to actually be of the X5!
