What am I missing from my spare tire compartment?

I recently purchased a CPO x5 diesel, but the spare tire compartment was empty. They recently sent me a spare tire but did not include anything else. It looks like I'm missing:
  • Jack tray
  • Jack & Handle
  • Crank
  • Tow eye

Are there any other tools I'm missing?

Also, my spare tire is a Dunlop 155/90/18. I will be replacing my OEM 19-inch wheels with OEM 20-inch wheels, do I need to replace my spare tire as well, or is this the right size for 20-inch wheels?

Your car didn’t come with spare tire from factory (it was $150 option), so you are not really “missing” anything other than tow hook. Your car most likely has run flat tires on it.

But if you are planning on doing the whole spare retrofit, then yes, you are missing things you listed + screwdriver.

Regarding the size. Your wheel size don’t matter for the spare. As long as spare can clear the brakes you are good to go. And the only way you wouldn’t clear the brakes is if you have big brake upgrade kit (which you don’t right now). Circumference of the wheels should be the same regardless if you go with 19 or 20 inch, which should be the same as your spare, as long as you use stock sizes.

The foam tray, scissor jack, and lug wrench doesn't come with the spare (unless you ordered the spare from the factory). The scissor jack and lug wrench come together. The foam is a separate part number also.

You also seem to be missing the tow hook and the mini screwdriver.

For replacements, I would get the missing tow hook, but forget the useless screwdriver. Anything will be better. For the spare, just get: a 6 ton bottle jack, huge breaker bar with correct attachment, two wheel chocks, a reflective/self illuminating warning triangle, safety jacket, 30 minute flares (at least six). Get a tire plug kit too. The wheel chocks will prevent the spare tire from bouncing and it will be good when you're changing a tire. All the things I listed will probably cost less than the factory foam, jack, and wrench… just some food for thought.

You're fine on sizing as long as you don't plan to upgrade to the MPBK (the 50i brakes will clear just fine).

Depending on the options.

S496A (rear heated seats), S536A (aux heating system), S601A (TV), S6FHA (rear seat entertainment), S791A (fridge) will give you a second battery.

Ok. Interesting.
And besides bmw, where can you even buy the second half-sized battery?

I guess as usual it's not available in North America. Located behind rear armrest.

Bet it can be retrofitted though

Thanks W37V, alphaod and wearenh! Yes, my car has run-flat tires so it wasn't supposed to come with a spare tire, but for some reason, the listing for the car has the space saver spare as on option, so I asked the dealership to send me a spare tire. I'll ask them to send me the jack, tray, wrench, etc. and see what they say.

TheUltimateDrivingManiac I think i'll keep a cooler in my trunk instead

BMW Coolbox part number for F15 is 64118062599. Will probably need the harness and coding. Interesting find!

A post about spare tire magically became a post about coolbox retrofit. Sorry.

I wouldn't want a second battery… it's just more costs when it comes to maintenance.

I somewhat disagree. My previous cars used to crap out on the batteries at 4 year mark and this would explain why my current ones still work well into year 5 even when its left parked for a month at a time. It may not be a bad thing after all. Yes, “when” replacing a higher one time expense.

I have seen X5 coolers in person in places like Dubai where any water left in you car becomes unusable in an hour.

OP- apart from the tire, you need the kit which is a foam piece with tools.
