Awesome, thank you for the update and the work to develop these. I'm on standby to place an order for both items.

New to the F86 platform and have owned it for a few months. Started getting that jerking about a month ago and after lots of troubleshooting, we figured out it was the transfer case. Had the oil changed in the TC and calibrated with ISTA and problem so far seems fixed but dealer did mentioned that front drive shaft will need to be replaced asap. I ordered a replacement already but definitely interested in this upgraded shaft when available.

Should have long splined sample made first week march, i put a downpayment on 200 pieces, i also have a shop ready to install/build/balance and ship already. Also using SKF ujoints as well, so everything ready except the splined section, sorry it takes a but of time, but i want everything done to my standards, and it is tough to find the right people/companies willing to build/create parts from scratch. Fingers crossed we get there soon, i am on it I promise. DS shields will be ready either tomorrow or monday.

Yes, replied to you in a different post, shop that took on the task of making a yoke for me made it to fit with a factory ujoint, that is smaller than the ujoint I plan on using (skf uj398), and super hard to obtain in the usa. I have to pay for a second mold development (1300 and 30-45 days) , so hopefully will have the correct yoke made in a month or less

Please let me know when you have these ready. I’m replacing my driveshaft right now but would love an upgraded solution.

Was hoping to hear how this turned out, but just ordered a Febi/Bilstein 866 shaft as they are only ~$300. OE is still ~$800 depending on source. X5 is at 108k miles and I am under it doing the transfer pump. The shaft doesn't look rusty like OPs pictures... but I don't want to take a chance with the kind of damage this failure can cause. $300 is cheap insurance.
GL OP, hope you're still able to get these produced if it's economically feasible for you. |

I had 10 yokes made, 💯 check out to my specs and how i wanted them to be. I put a bulk order in for 300 longer spline yokes , should have them built soon, i have 4 driveshafts already called for, have a few still available (5)
