Stupid....no way the X5M wins. The ZR1 is way faster. They are comparing a rwd car to an awd truck. That X5M took off like a bat out of hell. Sick launch. The ZR1 sat there and spun its tires. And the driver obviously doesnt know how to launch the ZR1. All the driver in the X5M has to do is hit the gas and go. No clutch to operate. But that truck looks sooo fast.

That right there is why the zr1 is still the bargain supercar, however you have to DRIVE it! More expensive cars drive themselves = awd and dual clutch trans. (Except GTR is less $ I think)

Can we all just agree that 5000lbs should never move that quick? It's impressive. You could have 1000hp and not be able to hook up and put it down. The X5 M clearly excels in that area, and should be respected as such.

So if that race was for pink slips, would the vette get a second chance because he "couldn't hook" or "had a bad start"? No. He lost fair and square. There obviously wasn't two professional drivers here. If that were the case, we all know it wouldn't have went down like that. This video just shows a slower car with a better driver. Or a faster car with a worse driver. However you want to look at it. And no one gives a shit how fast his car is when someone else drives it. If HE can't drive it and get it to perform to everyone else's expectations in a controlled environment, then he needs to sell that shit and get a car that requires him to just push the gas and go if that's what he really cares about. Or get lessons.

Something to be said for a vehicle that doesn't require perfect conditions, special tires, and a touch of luck to launch well consistently. There's nothing wrong with a car that is hard for the average person to launch to lose some face with that crowd. If the lay man sees a video like this and thinks it is slower than the X5M then he probably couldn't handle one anyway, might as well help convince him to get something easier to drive well. Meanwhile the pros will not be put off.

Absolutely normal under those circumstances .

Only a few cars such as the porsche 911 GT3 could do it better against the X5M due to N/A motor and very sophisticated engine,transmission,and grip .

For a turbocharged truck, where turbos have to spool, it did well. Shows how nicely the M engineers have designed turbos in their cars. I haven't seen many cars launch that hard, especially at 5200lbs.

I owned a tuned E70 X5M for 2 years before moving to the F10 M5 and can tell that the X5M launches as good as a GTR and is hard to beat in small races due to that massive no effort launch. The top end is bad and it starts to lose the gap close to quarter mile to faster cars due to weight.

The F85 X5M can be seen pulling all the way to the finish line which clearly means that it is running a tune along with downpipes and exhaust as a minimum as only a tune cannot make the top end as strong as shown in the video.

Still winning is winning even if it's AWD or RWD

The Vette driver had a horrible launch and pretty much gave up. Moreover, the X5M has AWD. A soccer mom could launch it perfectly time and again - oh wait!
