Brake caliper color suggestions

I got my hands on a set of 50i brakes that I plan to put on my 35i, but wanted to have them powder coated first. What do you think may look good on this setup?
I plan to paint the flares white, but keep the dark wheels. The car is mineral white.

Are those X5M wheels? 21 inch?
I guess blue calipers like the MPBK...

Yes, these are X5M, but in 20". I was thinking blue initially, but then hesitate about it as it may look more like an attempt at MPBK, which it definitely is not.
Thinking Red or Gold; however, leaning towards red most likely.

Looks Clean;
I like gold or yellow it will be subtle.
I wrapped the the chrome window moulding in gloss black, that is something you can do also. If you like that approach or look.

What did you use to wrap the window molding? I was thinking about switching it out to black.

Switching it back will cost about $1000.00 in parts. But 3m vinyl car wrap will do for about $50.00- $100.00

Either red or yellow would be pretty nice. How much was the m sport bumper retrofit?

I would go with a metallic grey, or if you want them to be noticed red.

With them not being M Performance brakes, I wouldn't go with the blue.

These kinds of brakes or the smaller ones should be silver or matte black. Anything else just screams "hey look at my stock brakes!". Leave them alone, paint them silver or paint them matte black.

Maybe changing disk to slotted and drilled will make it look better. Also powder coated brakes in gloss black.

if the rotors are drilled and not cast with the holes it reduces their overall strength and resilience. eventually you may see cracking and rotor failure. if you take a solid rotor and drill it you do not get the same rotor as one cast with the holes in it. from my experience zimmerman seem to be the best of the bunch in the drilled category but the other makes have really failed horrifically. something to consider.

Downer. But thanks for the input. These are machined so no problem here.

i don't know what that means in regards to rotors but they look like drilled rotors without chamfer but i can't really tell from that photo.

i understand for many that rust may be an issue or that the brake system looks really old after one winter if that is the case then prep the metal components and go with matte black... it will resolve the ugly rust look, mitigate rust build-up (if prepped correctly) and it won't look like you're trying to be something that it isn't but your car, your cash, your call.

Brake Calipers

I have a 2015 Space Gey X5 M Sport with 469 wheels (the 20s). Stock brakes. The brake calipers have a worn/old look to them.

1) The drum in between the brake calipers and the disc rotors looks badly rusted. Is this typical/normal?

Some members on the thread are talking powder coating while others are talking paint.

2) What color do you guys think is best? I do not wish to make it look like something it is not, but I think BMW blue would look the nicest, matching the blue on the wheel center caps. It also would be the most conservative color of the choices of color. I am not trying to emulate M brake, but that color just seems to go best. In the alternative, will yellow be muted enough or will it really jump out? Other options: paint the brake calipers space grey like the body, metallic silver (gloss I assume), flat black, satin black or gloss black? Stock brakes dont look as nice painted as the M or after market brakes anyways, but is it worth the hassle? Any pictures out there of someone who painted stock brakes?

3) Do I need to do powder coating no matter what, or if I choose a more basic color i.e one of the blacks or metallic silver, high heat paint (non powder coated) is sufficient? If I go blue or yellow, is there only one route...powder coated? Do they even make a high heat blue or yellow paint?

Thanks.

I'm also 2015, Space Gray, M Sport and I went with painted Gloss Space Gray calipers. I had them done at a shop. My wheels are different though as I have Gloss Black aftermarket 20" wheels. It's subtle and turned out well.
