RaceChip GTS for 3.5 Diesel

So I have seen a couple of conversations and done some searches but would like to hear from and diesel folks out there that are currently running the RaceChip. Has it caused any codes? Have you taken it to the dealer with it still installed for oil changes? And mOst importantly can you really tell a difference? I would think that 80+ more foot pounds of torque would be really noticeable but what are your real work observations?

Thanks! There was one in there I hadn't seen. Of course all of those threads are talking about the RaceChip Ultimate which is their older line. As per the title of my post I was looking for feedback on the current GTS or even the RS if someone has that one.

I have the Racechip GTS and XLR on my 35D for around a year now. Did I get a few codes initially, yes, but it occurred when I was driving at 8k+ of elevation and I worked with Ben r33_RGSport and Racechip to get it right. Great service, remotely modified the tune at no cost and got it right.

Do I take my car to the BMW dealer, nope. If you concealed the module well, they wouldn't know unless they were searching for it. If you're really worried about it than wait until its out of warranty.

Can you tell the difference, absolutely, does it make the car come alive and make it feel considerably more sporty, absolutely. Am I happy with the money I spent, absolutely. If you're expecting it to perform like and X5M than you will be disappointed. The XLR makes the throttle response considerably better and just makes the vehicle feel faster all the time. You will see a drop in MPGs from both though so be prepared for that.

Same here. Using the RS in the 35d. An intermittent code at the beginning that RaceChip addressed. Great service, and upped the tune actually. Care performs like a champ.

I have it nicely mounted. For dealer visits I spend the 5 minutes to remove the unit and then another 5+ to reinstall. All pretty easy and highly recommended.
