Received a pleasant surprise call from our dealer last week letting us know our X5 arrived earlier than expected. It was going to be in October but they managed to get a June build (ordered at end of May) and now ready for delivery in August.

Some photos of our X5 on delivery day.

Just a few things to do over the next few weeks: Codings, Paint sealant & clear film protection, Thinkware F750 dashcam front & rear.

I took the pics myself.

Yup, and that's why she's getting a paint treatment and sealant and clear film protection.

Beautiful colour mate, finally an X5 that is not Mineral White

So you're going to have someone already wet sand the entire vehicle? Not sure I would recommend that...

Is it the blue shade that gives it out? I may have misspoke the interior doesn't seem black either. Can we get more pictures

Yes, mine (and I guess others...?) is the same.
Really uneven surface when looking carefully. Not that it matters to me, it looks shiny when clean and from distance
- but is this normal and the new standard these days?
I guess it must be due to later years modern paints and technique (some other brands look like this too I have observed).
Or have BMW always been like this?

Thanks mate. It's M-sport exclusive carbon black with mocha nappa interior.

I will take some interior pics this weekend and post up. 👍

Is there a manufacturer that doesn't have orange peel? I'm not sure if they can even paint a car without this phenomena given the strict restrictions.

I only see non orange peel paint jobs on custom work.

The clear coat on the door isn't smooth. It looks like the skin of an orange

I suppose most mfg. have them.. I do notice that BMW has gotten worse over the years..
