Double sided tape
After purchasing pre owned emblems without any double sided tape adhered to it, I went on a quest for finding the best automotive double sided tape. After reading what seemed like countless threads on various forums I purchased what seems to be the perfect double sided tape. It's called 3M Nameplate Repair Tape and is usually used for... You guessed it... Nameplates. It's very thin and will work for a number of applications. For those of you thinking of emblems or the recently mentioned X5M air vents, give this tape a shot. You won't be disappointed in its adherability and how thin it is.
If everybody knew this already, I apologize. Lol. It just seems like everybody says "double sided tape" and there are a hundred variations for numerous applications |

I can vouch for this stuff, great product. 3M has a broad offering of adhesion levels, widths, etc...

I have the 3M VHB Heavy Duty Mounting tape # 5952 ( recommended by Alan ) which I used to mount my rear trunk spoiler and front carbon fiber splitter lip.
