Telematic Unit Retrofit 3G sunset offer
Hope all is doing well.
Just found this notice of retrofit by BMW for the 4G unit. Does not seems to be at a owner cost and was never informed before. Anyone had experience to share ? Thank you |

This was discussed 2-3 years ago here:
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1743924 page 9 post 183. F15/F16 is not included into the part offering hardware installation, only software update, so not going to work. This SIB was for newer cars to switch them to 4G connectivity completely. |

there should have been a class action lawsuit about this. many other brands owners went about it and either got compensated or retrofitted.

Weird... I've had my 2018 X5M for a few months. I installed the My BMW app when I got it and never paid for remote services. This thread may me wonder if my car used 3G so I opened the app and somehow have functional remote services now.
