Awesome - thanks for the affirmation. I did get it to finish by running the engine.

Does anybody on the X5 forum do coding in Chicago? Or, should I check out the M3/M4 side as there's a huge group?

Thanks

Problem importing FSC codes

Hi buddies.

I bought a set of FSC codes and when I try to import them using Esys and the "upgrade" button(I followed Shawn's guide to do it) I got an error: "FGN Check Failure". I tried over the web but I can't find anybody with this problem... any help will be really appreciated.

Details:

F15 with NBT retrofitted + adapter/emulator
Esys 3.24.3
FSC Codes newer than my vehicle production date

Thank you

I did some coding tonight, and ended up with a check engine light. Will the clear dtc/error codes clear this cel?

You should run it and find out. Hopefully it does.

It is normal during coding to get a variety of error messages after writing changes to ECU. These usually disappear on their own in a minute.

It is not normal to get a CEL though, or any error that persists, so something may be wrong.

Does your DME still have it's CAFD?

I will try the clear dtc function. What does it mean when you ask if the dme still has the cafd?

Read SVT and look at DME module and see if CAFD with Green dot is present or if it missing.

Hey I have the exact same issue. I coded SAT and sport+ by following Opasha's steps. Were you able to resolve this issue ? If so may i know what you did ?

Thanks in advance !

Esys

Hi all,

When trying to Code using Esys 3.24.3 (new install), I got stuck in step 13. My CAFD modules read didn't show any description of the sub folders.

I can only see the 3000; 3001....3005 etc, but inside those folders, there are only subfolders with a dot as name...and if I try searching for any coding description, there is nothing found...

I'm using my Mac with Boot partition Windows 8

Did you read and follow this Note?

* NOTE: E-Sys Launcher Car Series MUST be set to exactly match the car's chassis type you are coding (e.g. F01, F06, F07, F10, F12, F15, F25, F30, F82, F83, etc.). If after install it defaults to F999 and it cannot be changed, change PC Date ahead 4 days, then change E-Sys Launcher Car Series, then change PC Date back to current date. DO NOT craete .EST Token and PIN with PC Date advanced 4 days as the Validity Start Date for the token will be 4 days in the future.

Just gotta give a shoutout to shawnsheridan. As many of you already know, he is the Zen Master of all things coding. This morning, once again, he proved how awesome he is, and got me back up and running.

The amazing things we can do through coding are in no small measure because of this community, and it's willingness to share with each other our mistakes. Shawn was gracious to a fault, and I am deeply appreciative of him, and all other contributors to this board and this community.

Thank you!

Trying to add Internet Browser ... I saw many FDL coding on forums, but some says that I must change my VIN number with a (internet enabled VIN), update services in iDrive and then go back to my vehicle VIN...

Question is...how can I change VIN?

I already have a working VIN to use...

Question about auto PDC. So, when I drove up to the barrier front bumper, I need the sensors worked at a greater distance, as like I press PDC (pressing sensors indicate the distance from the barrier to the front bumper at a greater distance when the automatic PDC (too close you have to drive)). How to increase the distance for start PDC in automatic mode?

Is it possible to read which exact DTC codes are present? I have some SRS faults and trying to determine what exactly is causing them because just clearing does not work.

Need to use ISTA/D (aka Rheingold) for that.

Do you know of a good reliable source to get it from? I googled it and a couple links on bimmerforums and others, but most appear to either be corrupt or working slowly.
