Just ordered another X5 M50d (f15)
Well I bit the bullet and orders my new M50d, Jan 2015 production, will be sorry to see my current E70 M50d go, been a very reliable car. My old M50d will make someone a happy owner who ever buys it from the dealer.
They have given me a new X5 demo as a loaner until the new M50d arrives, bye bye E70. Also ordered the digital cluster.

@watrob, congrats, buddy! You're going to love the new M50D .
@heman, it's really not that difficult as long as you use the right tool to remove the clips (that was the hardest part for the whole process - once it pops out, everything is quite easy).

I bet that cluster will depict the shown EcoPro mode for less than 1% of its life, mostly due to curiosity. Takers on the bet?

For tighter steering, I always drive in either EcoPro (especially because it goes well with blue ambient lighting ) or Sport Mode.

Remind me to never ignore your posts. I had no idea EcoPro has tighter steering.

Yes, a lot of people don't realize this. Granted, it's not as tight as sport, but it's still apparent if you know how the wheel feels in Comfort (very loose/boat like). It might be even more apparent in M Suspension vehicles. I have stock suspension so the only changes occurring for me are Drivetrain and Chassis.

Also if you get 3rd row seats you loose the really good sports suspension settings of 2vp (anti roll & M-Specific rear-wheel drive bias, which the X5M has & plus the torque vectoring) and you end up with 2vm comfort suspension. The M50d also gets the Adaptive M suspension which is on the X5M, it's one more level of sports suspension that sits on top of the 2vp, not sure if its available on the X5 50i in the US but it's only on the M50d & X5M here. The X5 M50d is just a diesel version of X5M, you get the same club membership and books. The M50d here comes standard very heavily optioned, only had to add Panorama Roof, Internet, 5AG, 7S9, 453 & digital Cluster. PS. and Yellow Calipers & Ceramic Brake Pads

Just in the process of checking if I need to have new caster 5deg offset bushes made yet? I have not yet measured the current X5 f15 wheel base to see if the left hand side is shorter?
