How did you manage to fit the OEM BMW aluminum pedal over the brake pedal? Mine will not fit as the protruding screws are in the way. Even if I cut the screw flash, I don't think it would fit properly. I think it there's the risk of it slipping off during emergency braking. I put back the original rubber brake pedal pad.

You need to take off the rubber that is on the brake pedal to install the aluminium ones.

Wow pedals, who know it was such a hot topic... so my $0.02
I'd say OEM pedals looks great.. if all else fails just wrap them for a short while

Yes, I did remove the original rubber on the brake pedal. The issue is that the screws on the new one (see above pics) don't allow it to fit properly- it doesn't sit flash on the blank brake pedal. It just slips off the brake pedal.

Crap, looks like the brake pedal has to be drilled!

I started the thread and I still didn't do anything. This is the first time I haven't had aluminum pedals in I can't tell you how long.

Just installed the alum pedals from aliexpress.com (China)- thanks d_v_o_1! They're awesome and bloody cheap - $33 for the complete set and free shipping - and ..... no drilling!!! The quality is as good as the expensive ($124.42) BMW OEM ones (require drilling the brake pedal) I returned. They fit nice and tight. I didn't install the foot rest. The OEM set doesn't come with the foot rest. The vendor included a little gift too - BMW tire valves. Shipping took about a week and half. I'm very happy with them.

No problems and looking as good as new. No difference with the OEM ones in terms of quality. I suspect they all come from the same factory.

Easy to install and they don't get slippery when wet. It rains a lot here in Seattle and no issues with them.

Two years after my original post, I still didn't do anything. I guess I'll just wait for my '19. And thanks guys I got over 6,000 views on this one. It's nice to know not all my posts are useless. Have a great day everyone and enjoy those pedals.

Yeah, it's included in the set but seems to be a a fair amount of work to install. The original one would need to be removed otherwise the new one won't sit flash.
