Let me edit your RAW photos!

I'm trying to spend more time in Photoshop this summer to improve on my post processing. If you have some raw files from your DSLR that you don't mind sharing, please send them my way! Dropbox link works best.

Please keep the "Get off your lazy butt and take your own photos" comments away

Good luck with your PS improvement plan.
I'm not sure how many photographers this might appeal to , but I'm afraid it's not for me.
I prefer to be in full control from taking the picture, through the processing and on to the final output, whether print or projected / published image.

A couple of other thoughts I have are, would any photographers, who choose not to process their own work, choose to shoot RAW anyway ?

Also, it might be helpful to anyone thinking of taking up your offer being able to see what your current skill level is. for example, let them see a before and after image.
Good luck.

Yes I'm aware that a lot of photographers, mostly the more experienced ones, are not okay with sharing RAW files. I'm not a professional photographer so wouldn't mind sharing my RAW files (whether I had already processed it or not) instead of keeping it locked up on my harddrive. I have nothing to lose from sharing and the person receiving gets the opportunity to edit something other than his own car in his own town shot from his own camera

Here are some of my before and after photos.

3 exceptionally good edits there MasterWang.
You're skill level is, IMHO, already considerable, and anyone who wants to take you up on your offer is, I'm sure, going to be very pleased with the result.
Good luck with your project.

I changed over to CaptureOne Pro over a year ago and love how it processes RAW files. I'd suggest using their 30 day trial and compare to Adobe.

Yeah definitely not a fan of handing out my RAW photos to anyone. OP your editing skills are on point

(I may not agree with some of the ideas on principle, such as adding motion blur where there was none to begin with, but that's largely irrelevant... although, it does point to why someone such as myself wouldn't want to hand out a RAW photo to another individual to edit. After a while we all tend to develop a personal style not only in how we shoot, but also in how we post process, and it becomes part of our overall artist style, something that is tangible and recognizable by others.)

Why not shoot RAW and edit your own stuff?

Best of both worlds

BTW, seeing as this thread has been resurrected from the distant past, did that guy ever email you the 150 track photos to edit?

Well, that is how a lot of pro's do it nowadays too. It is way easier and cheaper to just take nice static shot and then load it in Virtual Rig and get full control of the shot.

I don't agree with those "pros"

Real > fake

Just my opinion.

Not judging those that do it, but you will never find shots in my portfolio that use such techniques. If there are rolling shots in there (there are, though not many) they were shot out of the window of another vehicle.

Comes down to personal style and choices.

I feel the same way about photoshopping in a badass sky to replace a bland one, or an entirely different background altogether, etc.

I'm just a guy who enjoys editing photos.
I don't even consider myself a photographer. Which is why I don't stick myself out windows for real roller shots or wait for the perfect badass sky to appear. Things would be different if I took photography as a serious hobby.

Like you've said, it all comes down to personal style and choices. I just enjoy editing more than shooting
