Great timing, about to add Stage I, so I will do them both at the same time.

With the factory exhaust being cut at the muffler is it easy to reattach everything once you trade the car back in off lease?

I have to say, this is the best sounding exhaust for our cars yet. Thanks for not charging $4,500 like the other guys. $2k list is a fair price for a Dinan product.

Just reduce your piggy to $2k and you'll have a new fan. $3k is steep for a piggy.

Yes. The stock exhaust can just be clamped back on at end of lease if desired.
Nice design.
So does that mean the piping diameter the same size as stock?
And you used the supplied clamp to re-attach the stock one after?

A bit of weight saving would have been nice... especially for us who are running around with a spare tire in the trunk... which i am considering to remove + loosing 20 pounds of my belly to offset the same exhaust weight
I guess i will have to wait for the intake.

Sadly, I believe akrapovic exhaust will work better at least you get some sound and some weight saving... But i have to say the sound of the Dinan exhaust is nice ECU and Intake i am sold to Dinan

Don't see that happening. I will say though that if you get a chance to drive a Dinan tuned F8x X5M/X6M that the price tag will most likely be of minimal concern after the experience. Relatively confident in that.

Not at the factory level but it doesn't hurt to ask the dealer as they may offer something. A

Piping diameter is the same as stock but I stand corrected on reinstalling a stock exhaust really easily after talking to one of the engineers and him clarifying things. The original muffler is cut very close to the can as there really isn't a straight section of pipe anywhere else but way further up the exhaust tract to do so. This means its basically impossible for you to reattach the stock exhaust without some welding of a sleeve piece to the stock muffler so a clamp can be applied. Can it be done relatively easily and cheaply, yes, but its not exactly a do it in your driveway type of thing. More of an easy job for a muffler shop.

You can find the install instructions here so you can see how close that cut is to the muffler and the reattachment issues it presents.

Another question - when installed, does the can sit up higher than the stock? I know a lot of folks, including me, think the stock muffler is hideous and is really exposed when you install a diffuser. I like the black tips .. Thank you for forward thinking that one!!! ... But the rest of it is nothing you really want to show off.

Otherwise. The sound is awesome. And that takeoff with dinatronics was definitely faster . I'm sure the neighbors loved that. Haha.

Its the racing engines on the engine dyno that the neighbors don't particularly care for. Our exhaust stuff in a random cul-de-sac of our business park is pretty tame in comparison.

Looks about the same to me. Is what it is I guess. Best price and meanest sound.

That would sound like birds chirping to me. Very peaceful.

Can you tell more about the air intake? Cold air? Release date maybe? I'd love to get all these at once. Don't mean to be hijacking the thread but you opened the can of worms

Nothing really informative. It will be a sealed cold air intake like the factory box but using CF. I believe the mold for the CF portion of it has already been submitted to the CF vendor but the other time consuming part is the custom filters being used in the box as they are nothing like ever used before. We have went through at least 3 prototype filter designs but I am not sure if one has been settled on definitively or not or if we are trying even more designs. If I had a gun to my head I would say a minimum of 60 -90 days out. I would also be VERY surprised if any other company even bothers to design an intake for the application to be honest given the uniqueness of it.

Not that bad, actually. If you're going to spend money on a quality exhaust, why hide it? The DINAN logo is visible and that's a good thing.

yeah I know, but that looks not good from the side
Ive had the same issue with my Eisenmann sport, and I finally moved tips in, and it looks much better now
So it is always much easier to make adjustable tips
