BMW Classic cars on display at the Techno Classic in Essen, Germany...

First a quick backstory...

The Techno Classic car show was held back in March. Sometimes life just conspires against your best laid plans. I was all set to attend... booked my hotel and all. But then at the last minute I could not make the event. I was bummed because BMW AG is celebrating their 100th birthday - and the Techno CLassic was certainly gonna be a good event for BMW Classic's cars.

Fast forward a few months... I was talking to a friend at BMW Classic... and told them about how bummed out I was... missing the show. So BMW Classic offered me the use of their media pool press photos!

So... here we can both drool over the awesome collections of cars BMW Classic brought to the show. BMW had their own hall/display area this year. I really am kicking myself for not being able to attend. But looking over these pics IS the next best thing.

Love that they have an Imola E36/8. Odd that it has US indicators.

Those are Taxis. All Taxis are a beige color. Most of them are wraps... so when the owner goes to sell the car... no one knows it was a taxi.

Its not that rare to see a US spec car registered here in Germany. Often times Germans can find a car in better condition in the USA and then just ship it over the "pond".

Yes... that BMW M1 Prototype is owned by Fritz Wagner. It was a 1977 model prototype car. Here is a link with more photos of that car. Just keep clicking on the images...
