Transition from F15 to F16?
Good morning/evening to all.
Just wondering if anyone made the transition from an F15 to an F16? I've had the F15 50i for a year now and all of a sudden i've started loving the F16, even though they are basically the same car. I used to own an E71 so i've got a soft spot for the X6, but i'm not absolutely sure yet about the change to basically the same car just with a different rear end. I don't need the extra head room as most of the time it's just me and one passenger. I've got the mineral white M sport in mind. You're opinions are much appreciated. Any thoughts? |

Instead of spending a lot to get essentialy the same car with a different rear end, spend a lot less and get a 21" m perf wheels and a full m perf body kit with all the CF trims. imho more aggressive than a stock m sport f16.

I considered that a while back, but unfortunately i've been told that with my car's body colour it would be difficult (it'll look weird). I agree that it looks way more aggressive, but there's the issue of the colour. |

Repaint your car and get a more exotic color than mineral white like one of the lambo whites!!!
here is mine in mineral white m sport with 21" m perf wheels. m perf rear diffuser and m perf rear spoiler are next upgrades as soon as i can get my hands on them. however i think with the x6 being a bit lower, with a lower centre of gravity, it will probably drive better, but the x5 fully decked in m perf looks like a buff beast... http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1132869

You don't need cargo space? That makes the answer easy: do it. I have thought of getting one myself because my wife accuses me of taking her car for joy rides.
Weighing a couple of hundred pounds less (I read that somewhere but have not verified) It should also accelerate better and corner better as well. |

I went from an E70 to an E71 (after only 1y) and I was soooo happy with the transition. I had AD on both. Coming from an E53, the E70 drove too 'big' for me. The X6 gives drives like a much smaller car than the X5.
I test drove F15s before ordering my F16 (a lot because I totaled my E70 in May and had to wait to Aug to even order an F16, then have it show up in Dec). I'm happy with the decision. Since you had an E71 before...the rear seats are much better in the F16. You can still hit your head when you get in the car. The entry to the hatch it still high, but the foot opening is cool. The LCD instrument panel is extra cool. I like that it changes its appearance between modes. |

Those rims look cool on the M sport! But I think they'd fit more on an Xline or Luxury line don't you think? |

My only concern is that I occasionally need some space in the back for some fun and the X6 is not friendly when it comes to that.. |

The only 21" oem wheels that i found were the 3 M performance sets I only like OEM wheels). and out of the 3, the other two had huge gaps betwen spokes which makes the stock ugly stock brakes very visible. I think with those wheels M perf brakes are a must. I wasn't going to get the brake upgrade just to get those wheels and these wheels are more unique and sporty enough specially with the super wide staggered setup. Also I don't like the very lean wheel look and these wheels are more muscular/buff looking imho and suits x5 better than the other OEM 21s.

I thought of the Xline but then I thought that i'd probably want a change in style as I already got a line for my F15 and I like the aggressiveness of the M sport. Plus, I think the normal 20"'s on the xline for the F16 doesn't look synced with the body. I wish BMW made 21" for their SUVs (SAC & SAV). I've seen an M sport kit with similar to azurite black metallic as an exterior color and with the black/brown interior, so I thought it's possible to do the same. |
