Resetting Tire Pressure Sensors takes awhile??
My new wheels just came and I had them installed. Does resetting the TPMS sensors on the F15 take a lot longer than other cars? It literally took 10mins of driving for the car to recognize and reset the new sensors and there was a % completed status bar in the idrive screen. My E90 and both of my F10s resetting TPMS sensors took maybe 1-2 blocks tops.
Anyone else who swapped wheels noticed this? Everything is reading fine now that it's done but wondering if this is normal or did my wheels dealer include some non oem sensors which is why it took longer to read....

Yes, that is correct. I've swapped twice now, first to winter set, then back to original. Yes, it took 5 -10 minutes of driving each time.

Thanks guys....wonder why BMW changed the sensors in the X5. The old style would reset super fast compared to this one. It was stuck at 49% for awhile then after another 5mins of driving it finished. Not a big deal i guess since i will only be swapping wheels twice a year.

My guess, the VDO have a G sensor to save the battery when the car doesn't move, hence longer lasting TPMS instead of standard 4-5 years on the older TPMS.
