Not even in sport mode, Just regular comfort mode. In sport mode it's just a plain beast.

My X5 in Comfort mode, plain automatic drive feels faster than my previous 550xi. In sport mode automatic it feels like a beast. You are comparing to the paddle shifting or gear shifter manual changes and I am not. I'm saying that in comfort or sport mode the X5 feels so much faster than my previous 550XI My 550XI was a 2014 and my X5 is a 2015. Hope this clears it up.

Yeah, the torque is amazing. For a 5300lb suv, 0-60 4.3sec is no joke.
I think the reason some of you feel the x5 is faster than the 5 series is because x5 does send more torque to wheels due to shorter Final Drive ratio (3.15 vs 2.82) while both cars have the same transmission and gear ratio. But I always wondering why bmw didn’t use a S55 engine in the 50i. With same power, it will provide better handling, reliability and emission control. And the makeing cost shouldn’t be much difference. I kind of envy the 2.9t engine in the new cayenne s. |

I freaking love this car. This is my first BMW and my first V8. I can't see myself going below 400HP in the future. My wife also loves it, but she need not be behind the wheel of something this fast, she also admits this.
