They look cheap and plain. The OEM 21's look better imo.

I'm homestly surprised so many are still doing the black/white look.

What would u recommend then as a colour combination of the day?

I currently have a metallic white + machine finished silver rims + body kit on the mrs car, and a metallic white + carbon grey rims on mine. Never had a white + CF/black combination.

I had a white E70 and still have a white 135i. My father had a metallic white F15. I'm definitely over white. I have BSM now and dad went for Space Gray.

Personally, I really like blue such as Deep Sea Blue or Carbon Black. Not a fan of most black wheels. I like silver or gray/anthracite.

I have to agree with you P1et the white with black rims was really popular when it first appeared but seems dated already. I choose against the black rims figuring the "fad" would be just that. A co-worker here at my office has a silver Infinity QX70 with black painted rims, they are always dirty and look like crap. Not to mention the curb rash shows really bad.

Let me see how the 2017 optioned black 469m wheels hold up when the car gets delivered in 3 weeks.

I guess it will be ok if there is a shimmer/gloss to it, and once I install the various m performance parts.

I much prefer going up to 22" aftermarket, and generally carbon grey over full black, only concerned abt the build and ride quality.

The standard silver wheels off bmw are overly common in australia. The x5 is the best selling luxury suv in australia.

What's interesting is most major luxury car companies now offer black wheels as an option, as opposed to a few years ago

Even though I have black wheels, I like gunmetal more.
Black wheels.......you either love them or hate them.

It's not that I hate black wheels, but they need to be at least shiny. I don't like OEM wheels that are simply sprayed matte black.

But the whole black and white theme, man, just so unoriginal...

IMO, some color combinations are classic, whether you like chrome, anthracite, or black rims. trying to do something "different" tends to be more trendy or even tacky. Before you know it people will be doing red and blue anodized rims to be "different". I see it all the time in the GTR community and honestly most of the cars are ruined.

Agree. Folks are more concerned about standing out or trying to be "different" there days that they end up with a piece of garbage rather than something that is a bit more subtle but classy.
