2015 xDrive 35i Maintenance - Lease Takeover

I am strongly considering taking over a lease on a 2015 X5 (xDrive 35i).
The vehicle has very low mileage and the original lessee made a great deal on his lease, which is why it caught my attention.
Yesterday I learned that the BMW cost-free standard maintenance program is not transferable on lease transfers. This really put a tamper on my outlook for the potential acquisition, as I hate paying for the standard maintenance on my Lexus GX.
I was hoping someone could post some sort of detail about the maintenance schedule and associated costs, as I'm trying to determine the real cost of ownership.
Any comments/advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

There is nothing that requires you to perform maintenance on the car through BMW - i.e. Oil changes. You can literally turn it in without doing any maintenance to the car. They may ask for proof if they suspect abuse but just have a local shot give you receipts.

Have the current lessee get the dealer to do some work for free (oil, etc). Hand in the car after lease - done. It will cost you a few hundred for all of the oil changes. Have the current lessee pay for it.

Thank you for the info- will definitely have him take it in for service prior to the transaction. Are there any "critical" or important service points? IE- my GX has a big service due at 30,000 miles that runs nearly a grand.

I don't think this is correct. I've transferred and taken over a number of BMW leases and never once an issue with the utilizing maintenance coverage. It stays with the vehicle/vin and as long as covered within the years/miles you should be good. Did you call to confirm? Call BMWFS Lease Assumptions dept.

Yes, it is on BMW's website now too. It's a somewhat recent change to the program.

if you drive the vehicle to 30 or 40 thousand miles, what will you have to do? maybe change the oil 2 or 3 times, set of tires? which bmw doesnt cover. and perhaps a set of brakes? doesnt sound like a deal breaker to me.
