Help Needed with Backup Camera Option!

I'm putting in my order right now.

If I just get the rear view camera and neither of the Drivers Assistance packages, does the car still beep and show the lines when I back up AND does it still show the parking distance control when I forward as well?

On my e70 I have just the backup camera and it works this way.

It shows both the rear camera and the park distance ultrasound sensor maps front and rear.

The park distance control also activates at slow speeds in parking lots etc. When you are going forward. Yes the camera shows lines and also tracks things with yellow and red moving markers of things it thinks you might hit.

Perfect. Just making sure I didn't need the other packages to get this. Apparently on some MB models you do have to spec other packages to get more than just a basic backup camera.

I was thinking about that with a lot of the options we have to pay for. Even the new Honda Accord I bought my mom comes more fully equipped standard - ha!

I was helping my sister test drive some cars today and could not believe one of the Acura SUV's had one package with just the rear camera and another package to add rear sensors.

Yeah there are many cars these days with just a rear camera, but no parking sensors.

Makes no sense. I call it bad marketing so they are not selling the useful packages.
