Finally - it's here

So I am finally picking up the car after several months of being on the forum the time has come where I actually get to pickup the car. I ordered the car back in December wanting a March delivery. Knowing diesels were going to be in demand I wanted to get a head start. The funny thing, I ordered a 35d but switched out to a 35i with MPPK (sorry Shaw). Based on the amount of driving we do we just won’t see the gas savings. To top it off, my wife gets car sick so the torquiness didn’t help.
Many thanks to everyone’s posts and PMs back and forth – your views/comments have been invaluable to me.

I tried to pick up the car earlier this week but it had a damaged wheel and B pillar. But the most frustrating part, which many have felt here, was MPPK was not installed. So I refused delivery and will be picking it up tomorrow. Hopefully this time I will be picking it up.

So I am almost there. Build is below. I’ll post some pics when I have them.

It had a deep scratch on the plastic. They were able to buff it out but they had to replace the rim. I was surprised that I didn't find more issues.

Some photos of the day. Had some time to install the black gloss grills. I don't know when I am going to be able to set some time to do more with the car. I had 30 minutes while the kids were sleeping.

I have to say, I really like the digital and head up display.

I dont see why US F15s don't get the digital display standard - and not even offered as an option. The rest of the world uses them.

You made the right move going with the 35i with MPPK installed! The software tweak bmw made with the MPPK really wakes up the X5.

Just curious why they would not include the MPPK from the factory?

I believe the MPPK is considered a "dealer" installed option. Since the X5 is built here in the US I don't think it goes through the VPC at the port. Not sure how it is for cars destined for overseas though...

First issue popped up - tailgate won't close with the driver door button although it will close with the button on the tailgate. Hopefully it is a small issue.

Need to code it.
It will close but you have to pull up and hold the button.

I had the same difficulty and then read the manual (which goes against all that is sacred ) and discovered the above!

I finally got a coding cable. I have been on a Mac for 7yrs now so I'm going to figure out a Windows configuration. This will be my first time coding so I hope it goes well. I am looking to code the following options - let me know if I am missing any:

Disable disclaimers - I am already annoyed with it pooping up each time.
Dvd in motion
Video via usb
Speed on instrument cluster
Close trunk via key fob
Open close window via key
Side mirror close on lock (although dealer told me that they are seeing issues in the winter with damaged cables because of the cold)
Auto start set off
Remember previous a/c option

Let me know if there any others I should be considering. Hopefully I get some time to do it this weekend. I am on vacation the following week so won't have much time.

I'm pretty sure open/close window via key works without coding...
