anyone ever cross shop X6 and 328d wagon?
I know thats insane, right? except maybe its not! sticker of $57,325 on the 328d M Sport sticker of $70,250 on the X6 35i M Sport healthy $13,000 difference cargo room is almost identical with seats up and down in the two! of course passenger room is much different as is interior luxury. giving up MPG (328D) for performance (X6) looking at leases the 328d has a killer lease, only paying 41.5% of MSRP with down payment rolled in, X6 is about 45.35% (advertised, I will negotiate from there) I won't have to pay tax as my X3 trade in should cover 100% of that. difference comes down to about $185/month plus extra gas (maybe $210/month after that). I can afford it but don't like to overspend either, especially when its for the wife So I guess this is my question: is $210/month (on a lease) worth it to get the X6 over the 328D wagon? Or save the $210 and spend it elsewhere (my 335i lease is up in 9 months!) |

Personally, I wouldn't opt for 57k 328d to begin with. I would either reduce the price of 328 or just get X6.

I assume the 3er you are considering is xdrive. Otherwise the comparison makes no sense. Still a bit of a stretch, but I know the feeling.
If BMW sold xdrive 5 series wagons here in the states, that's what I would have bought. I wanted something for winter road trips, and every day beating. But since they don't sell them here, I briefly considered a 3 series xdrive wagon, but since I was getting rid of my pickup, I just considered it too small for the utility that I wanted it for. X5 w/V8 was the closest fit for my needs and wants. I won't comment on the X6. OK, I'll just say they are hideous looking. But considering they have less utility and cargo room than the X5, then the comparison with the 3 series wagon actually makes a little more sense, I guess. It comes down to how much money do you want to spend for a little more luxury and a few more gadgets.
