Lemon Law?

Hi guys,

I picked up an X5 35d with 10k miles on its odometer about 3 months ago (current mile is 11k). I took it in for service within 2 weeks of driving it. The navigation screen kept on going blank, or black with, "No Signal" on the display. The service advisor told me that the screen had been replaced by the previous owner before. It was fixed after few days and now, almost 2 month later, it appeared again. I was happy at first, but now I was told by the dealer that the Lemon Law only applies for the first owner of the car. Can anyone offer me any advice on this matter? I would love if BMW buys me a new car. Thanks in advanced.

lol. I did search for it, but there may be people here that has dealt with this issue and may help me on this matter. You are right though, Lemon Law does not cover used cars. There is instead another way to get back to the dealer for used cars and it's called Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Why not just buy a new screen? Or you should be under warranty and if you bought it from a BMW lot go back and start up a storm

It has been replaced before. It is not the screen maybe the wiring.

As others have said, you are under warranty. Have them fix it.

If the screen is showing No Signal it's just a connection problem or wiring. The display is fine.

Lemon law applies to used cars under warranty, in California at least. They will not give you a new car but the amount you paid if they are not able to fix the issue.
