I ordered my MY09 M3 the summer of 08 and took delivery of one the first DCT's. I've never had any issues. This works both ways. Everybody wants to use their own experience as an example, but no blanket statements can be accurately made like that, but it doesn't stop us all from thinking that way anyway. I think the truth lies somewhere in between. Every purchase is a throw of the dice. Everyone has a certain chance of having problems, and the statistical chance of having problems is most likely a little higher in that first year, but statistically, it's probably not that significant that I would avoid it at all costs. I will be in the position of either trading mine in for a new one in the first model year, or living with my current f15 for a year after the warranty runs out. Of those two options, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the new one that has a warranty. This is a vehicle I do not want to own without a warranty. Not because it's got issues, but because it is extremely complex and if it does have problems, it is extremely expensive to get fixed. Of course, another option (which I might do) is to purchase an extra year of warranty, but that's another subject.

It's hard to imagine an X5 that looks better than the outgoing one. I have my hopes high up.

But there is room for improvement to stay competitive; especially in the US.

Well as a "Flying Ace" you should know the old military adage..."Never fly the A Model of anything."

Uh...what? The N63TU (N63B44O1) is a notably re-worked motor from the N63 (N63B44O0) in the E70, and the N57TU in the 35d is the same...numerous, numerous changes.

You're incorrect on this one. By a fair margin.
