Do you have notes somewhere or, DIY instructions, I would be interested in that.

Any comments on this?

I am moving to Germany and wanted to know how difficult it is to convert my car to European specs.

Same here. Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm getting frustrated trying to figure this out. Has been told by dealers both here and in Europe that it can't be done (or more likely - they don't want to do it). I've tried numerous independent shops, but same answer.

How and where can this be done? I get that it won't be easy or cheap, but I'm willing to pay the price!

I am in Germany now and maximum what I could do with European rear lights was to enable rear fog lights when I press brakes. Can someone please share how to code or rewire US Spec car to get European rear lights work properly?

Resurrecting an old- As I was washing my car an idea popped. So our F15s have two separate lamp housings,, one on tailgate and one on side panel. Both lamps will light up for brake and turn signal using the same red LED pattern here in the US. My idea is this- Can we disable the turn signal function on the tailgate- inner lamp housing? This way it will only light up as a brake light. The outer lamp will still retain both brake and signal function. This obviously is not a fix for those who want amber signals but neverthelss it can make it appear that we have a dedicated brake late in the inner housings. Hopefully one of our coders can have a Eureka moment on how to disable the inner turn signal.

just wanted to update on my 2017 f15 USA build i installed the euro switch and coded rear fog lamps successfully. i like it a lot and integration into the 6WB also swapped over with the OEM lamp light is very clean and i like that all the buttons on the lighting switch panel light up unlike on my f30 where it was dead unless you also swapped the panel.

So euro switch, and then did you code the following?

REM Module

REM -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_L_output: nsl_l
REM -> Mapping_Nebelschlussl_R_output: nsl_r

FEM_BODY
3060 NSL_Verbaut: verbaut

Folks

I shipped my x5 to Europe and trying to figure out how to change the back lights and enable amber signal.
I am not sure anyone was able to do it DIY. But I will be trying as it’s required to keep the véhicule here.

I have the parts. Can anyone give me a 5 - 10 steps to do ?

Much appreciated.

This was done,but you need new lights and change the connector pin out if I remember correctly.

Was able to code it all.
  1. Changed the nebleschluss L/R output to NSL_l and r
  2. Activated the nsl_cernait to verbaut (means installed)
  3. Turned off the blinken 2 H L/R output
  4. Turned off the brems (breaks) output as they were set to blinken (blinkers)

Now when I break the break lights are on.
All good, I think ! Not sure if the EU regulation requires also the fog light to be on.
I ll be told soon ..

Next turn signal is white back-up light.

Funny thing about this, I really like US-Spec backlight, no amber light, but one is never satisfied what one has LOL
