Pretty much my number one as well - slightly different recipes - makes answering some of the forum questions much more difficult.

I can tell you as one of the few members here who have gone from E70 50i > f15 35i> f15 50i, there is no substitute for the 50. I had the MPPK on my 35i M sport and while it was fun to drive (with plenty of pep), after owning the V8, the 35i is just not in the same league. From the sound of cold starting in the garage in the AM, to passing someone on the highway, its just a whole different feel. My wife thought I was nuts for trading in a 2016 with 15K for a 2016 with 9k (but with the v8), I would do it again in a heartbeat. Life is short, get what you want and enjoy your time behind the wheel. My next one is going to be a 2 year old CPO F85

^^that's my bother right there. I traded my purchased new 2015 35i w/41k miles for a 2015 50i cpo with 13k miles. Couple years and I might pick up an F85 too.

Not everyone is wanting the same "recipe" as you - many vehicles are a substitute for the 50i - depends on what you want.

I don't know which engine to go with at this point. I've located a 35i with m adaptive suspension and a 50i as well.

I guess my question is....which one would you choose to go with and why? I had an e90 with a cobb tune and that was fun, but I'm not sure a tune with this heavy of a car would really do anything? My concern with the 50i is the reliability.

Any feedback from you guys would be much appreciated. Torn on which one to go with and I have about a week until my c63 is gone!

Thanks
You received a lot of feedback thus far. But, to answer you question. You own a C63 AMG and your looking for a bigger vehicle i.e. SUV. You know you want an X5, (35i or 50i).

Well, I've owned a E70 35i and now I own a F15 50i and the bottom line is if you want the performance anywhere close to what you have in the C63 you will want to go with a 50i.

As for the reliability. I have a F10 550i and a F15 50i. Both are a version of the N63 engine and although there are plenty of threads out there with bad reviews on this engine, I've had no issues thus far.

I will tell you one thing and that is I'm very familiar with the local gas stations.
