Driver footwell liner carpet liner sticking out

Anybody else with this issue and what is the fix for it? The carpet liner next to the footrest sticks out. I san squeeze it back in, but within 5-10s of foot resting on the footrest, it puts pressure on the liner and it pops out.

Would rather not take it to a dealer and spend hours with it, if there is a quick fix. Seems there is some rectangulare foam padding in the bag that is not sitting quite right either.

i believe you can remove the handle by taking the screw out, then the panel pops out. maybe some wires are pushing from behind.

Is yours an M sport as well? I wonder if it has something to do with a different footrest. Seems like there is not enough carpet (cut too short) to adjust to pull you subject to it when resting your foot on the footrest.

I looked through old service records and I see couple attempts to potentially fix this to no avail. Bugs the hell out of me.

Mine is also an M sport, and it does get annoying that I have to use my foot to shove the liner back every day.
