Interior led strip?

Is the interior led strip that is part of the lights package on all the time or just when the headlights are on?

You can control it on the iDrive. You can turn it off or leave it on. You can also control it using a dimmer function so it gets brighter or dimmer. Also, you have the options in orange, white or blue lights and a mix of orange and white and blue and white depending where you want the illumination in the car. Remember that it is not only the led strip but you also controls the illumination on your feet, doors and cup holders. I find it pretty nice when you use it in orange at night with the orange dashboard.

The LED strips are standard, not part of the lighting package, at least that is the case in the U.S.

I got the Lighting Package and love the LED headlights. The LED strips are standard here in the US.

So, is it correct to say the LED strip is NOT connected to the headlights? I.E. if the headlights are on, then the strip comes one and when the headlights turn off, then the strip turns off.

I did not pay attention on that detail since if the headlights are off it is during the day and even if the strips are on they will be hard to see. All I know is that you can turn the LED strip on/off on iDrive. I.E. if the headlights are on you can turn the strips off. You can also control the brightness level of the strips.

I just did a test drive during a bright day, with lights on auto.

I don't believe the headlights were "on" at any point, but the strips were noticeable...

Not in my experience...
I specifically confirmed that blue, white and orange were available.
Plus in the BMW brochure it shows the option as Standard plus pictures.
UK purchased model.

Ok, but in Finland its optional. 563 code and 550 euros. It sucks. Also just now checked German configurator, 0 euros for M50d.
