WTB: 2017 or 2018 X5 35d - Black M Sport

Hello all,

Forum viewer here that just joined so I can make this post. I am looking to buy a '17 or '18 X5 diesel. I realize what I'm looking for is a bit difficult to find, so I thought I'd ask you fine folks. I'm hoping you might have what I'm looking for and would consider a private sale if you were contemplating trading in. The wish list:

• 2017 or 2018 hopefully with some warranty left
• Preferably < 40k miles
• Black sapphire, jet black, or ruby black
• Any interior but beige, maybe even oyster (not sure)
• M sport package
• Premium package
• Cold weather package
• HK or Hifi
• Other options would be nice

I'm in southeastern PA but could make a trip for the right car. Thank you for taking a look, and hopefully I can give one of your cars a new home.

Ruby black would have been an individual color in the US market. Otherwise it was black sapphire, jet black, or carbon black (carbon only available with M Sport).

The interior options would be black, mocha, terra, canberra beige, or 'ivory white' - which is basically the same as oyster, though it wasn't called that on the F15.

Anyhow, sounds like you might be looking for a private sale, but you might try checking out the BMW CPO page, especially since you're looking for a fairly newer model. Tons of lease returns listed there. I've found my last 3 BMWs on this site, however I will say their filters have gone the crap recently. You can no longer filter on model to narrow down search results So right now I see 109 2017/2018 black M sports (you can filter on packages and color), but that includes all models - 40e, 35i, 35d, 50i, and X5M. If they hadn't removed the model filter you can quickly see just the 35d models.

@Red_y_ Yep, just wasn't sure what to put there. I have realistic expectations on budget based on days spent perusing cars.com, bmw cpo, and other sites, just need to find the car.

Thanks jiggz. I found the exact same thing with the filters. It renders the site almost useless other than to check specs on a CPO car I find listed elsewhere. I'm thankfully not in a hurry so the search continues.

That sounds gorgeous, and if it were up to me, yes. The wife however will be daily-driving this new and she wants black. If you had a few pics however, I could try tempting her...

I mentioned this to my dealer sales rep and he seemed as perplexed as us. Apparently, there were site updates and mistakes were made. Ohh well.

Just as a follow on question to anyone that has done some searching. I have been scouring cars.com, autotrader.com, carmax.com, and facebook marketplace. Given the difficulties of using the bmw cpo site, are there any other sites that someone can recommend to look for hidden gems?

Thank you! Yes I have seen those. The first and third are Carbon Black. I know a lot of people love it, but I just don't like navy blue and to me that's how it looks all cleaned up during the day. The second one is on my cars.com watch list. I like it. It's just completely across the country from me. I know shipping is relatively cheap and their price seems good considering the miles. I just was hoping to see the car without having to fly then wait for it to get shipped. There is one in Iowa that I am tempted by, too. I just can't help but feel there will be something closer if I wait a bit. It's the blessing and curse of having something else to drive right now. Thanks again jiggz!

Thank you all for the help. Finally found a '17 CPO ticking all the boxes and picked it up this past weekend!
