You are home. In a manner of speaking. I suspect it will just take one or two more weekends at the most for you to realize that your home is in fact your office.

Home is not where the heart is. Once you accept that, your new reality will be a lot easier to get used to.

That's how you should look at it, not what you still owe (unless you made no source deductions or payments of any kind through the year, in which case, what you still owe and your tax bill is the same). But still, compare to taxable income each year to see the effective rate to see if there's any real difference.

I'm just saving Biorin the trouble of responding.
Combined we made about 6000 more. My deductions for mortgage went down a bit as I am paying more to principal than interest these days. I added a '77 Beetle registration of $234. Charitable contributions remained the same. Probably my earned interest was about the same, I didn't have any unusual growth in savings. No early withdrawals from pre-tax savings. IT was one of the shortest sessions we have had, and I STILL had to run down to the cars to get the registration amounts.

Nice - I'm glad your taxable income increased!

Just make sure you look at the line which shows the calculated federal and state taxes on the taxable income (which is before any of your source deductions) rather than just the remaining amount you owe in order to properly see if you are paying more or less taxes than last year.

Sounds like you might be though, so that's great!

I'm waiting until April 14th to file. I don't want to know how much I owe.

Yeah, I typically wait right to the bitter end and file April 29th or so.

Hate paying the government more of my hard earned money so Turdeau can waste it on his latest pet project that doesn't benefit me in the slightest.

I spent about three hours at work once trying to research a way to opt out of social security. Sigh.

Story time, as I cannot sleep.

Never actually partied much in high school, but I did go to this one party. Was junior year, I believe the first or second party of the season. It was an after party for the "back-to-school" dance, which I also never went to.

Anyways, being a Catholic high school, in the Northern suburbs of Chicago, the school environment was Old Testament, while the student population had more money than brains. Dances were usually proctored by every single teacher and office worker, to prevent sacrilegious interactions between males, females, and teachers (another story)...so the school events were typically boring as fuck. They also ended at 8:30, for some reason.

Parties, on the other hand, usually got out of hand, and ended with fucked situations. This particular party was no exception.

Wasn't planning on going, but had a few hours to kill before meeting up with a friend, so I showed up to say I'd been to party during high school. Was around 9:00, probably about 30-35 kids, and tons of cheap booze and weed. Probably some coke too. Idk, my school was fucked.

Anyways, kids were drinking, dancing, and eating some sandwiches and pizza that the hosts parents had gotten for the party. Something in the pizza or sandwich wasn't all that good, which caused a quite few upset stomachs. This quickly escalated to vomiting.

I went outside to leave, but my friend, for some reason had to piss right then and there, so he wandered to the nearest bathroom, only to be greeted by a toilet and sink clogged with vomit.

Not phased, and determined to relinquish the stress in his lower body, he proceeded to the tub...which was occupied. Girl, whom is well known in school for various acts involving her mouth, is passed out in tub...in a pool of her own vomit and piss. She sorta comes to consciousness and sputters to my friend "can you give me a ride"? To which my friend walks out of bathroom, and leaves.

As we pulled out of neighborhood, a couple of squad cars pulled in. Apparently 9 kids got their stomachs pumped (including bathtub girl) and pretty much everyone there got underage tickets. All which got waved cuz Northern suburb politics and "my kid would never do such a thing"!

High School was entertaining.

I have a friend who grew up in the same area and the last part of your story explains a lot about him.

Thanks.
