+1: As a previous owner of Escalades, Denalis, and GM trucks and still a current owner of GM trucks I can confirm my wife's last two X5 50i's got WORSE combined mileage over their life cycle than my Diesel/V8 Gas 4x4s or full size SUVs and trucks with 6.2L naturally aspirated V8s (with 8-spd trans). My American 'big rigs' averaged 17-18.5 MPG combined vs. the X5 50i at the top of it's game +16.1 MPG. Two different animals, but the smaller vehicle with 'efficient dynamics' from Bavaria fared worse. My comparison is for all vehicles with V8s and 4x4 or all wheel drive as well.
