Coding a new nav screen?

Hello Guys...

The carwash damaged my idrive screen so I went and got one from ebay to replace it...

It is not the same part number its and older one than the one I used to have but looks exactly the same as well as the connectors... its for 2014 X5īs mine is 2015... to my surprise it does not work... its completely blank... SO is there a way it can be coded to work?

I have all the coding software so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
JC

JC, I don't think it should need to be coded.
Do you mind sharing the part number?
Could it be the replacement is dead from the seller?

The screen does work and turn on we tested it... Only when connected to the truck it wont...

Original part number is: 65509347878

Part number of replacement screen: 65509296939

You think it can be coded to work with this new screen... it seem the original number is very hard to find and 1500 usd MORE expensive because it can only be bought from "official" part suppliers.

Uhm, it seems as they replace the part number as of 11/13 production.
I am not sure if it is code-able. If it is, it should be in the HU_NBT folder.

The new Central information Display needs to be programmed to the car via the dealers ISTA system.

Coding just changes settings, it doesnt update or load software like ISTA does.

Yes, the carwash used some kind of chemical that stained the screen and was impossible to remove...

Not unless you know someone with a full working up to date ISTA.
The screen has to be programmed to work with the car.

Sorry to hear that, my carwash sprays the interior all the time with some crappy soap in order to clean the windows, I think I am going to ask them to stop doing that (I haven't gotten interior cleaning on my F15 so far, I think I'll just stick to cleaning interior myself).

But if I replace it with the same part number should it work?

You operated on your own? Nicely done and glad to hear you're back to good.
So did the car wash place compensate you in any way or are you chalking this up as live'n'learn?

I, too, have wondered how the washers handled this as now I will be worried about what is done inside the cabin.
