Rear view mirror fell off, help needed

Hello,

Bumped the rear view mirror unit off while wiping down the windshield.
It’s hanging by the wires.

I am having trouble reattaching it and cannot find any videos for the F15 model.

Can anyone help?

What was the fix?

Just an FYI in case someone else finds themselves in this same predicament (bumping the interior RV mirror)…if the new mirrors are anything like the older mirrors…all it take to remount the mirror is to start it at an approximate 45° angle..then twist it to its correct position.

The mirrors are designed to come off easily with a bump as a safety precaution. In the event of an accident…the mirror should come off easily so that it doesn’t become an item that passengers can get impaled by.

Again, the old E series mirrors were remounted with a twist:

This model slides in from the bottom. Felt like an idiot..whoops.

Turns out it doesn’t twist in at an 45 degree angle, which was what I was attempting.

Thanks for the update and procedure for this generation rear view mirror. Will have to add this to my mental Rolodex.

Attaching a photo in case it’s useful.

1) Attach the spring clip on top of the rain sensor
2) Unit slides in from the bottom.
3) You will feel it catch to know it’s secure

This first person I encountered at the local collision repair shop directed me to go to the dealer.

Luckily, a person working their came out of their office and offered to help. Unfortunately he was also trying to twist it in, based on my information.
