HELP! Looking to Purchase a 2015 BMW X6M or X5M. Lots of Questions

Hello All,
I am looking to purchase a 2015 BMW X6M or X5M for my wife. She is torn between the X5M and X6M. We found a 2015 BMW X6M nearby. The vehicle is a lease return. The vehicle is being sold at a BMW dealership. The vehicle is not certified. It has been on the dealer lot since May of this year. The bumper to bumper warranty ends on May 2019 or 50,000 miles. Here are some details about the vehicle:

EXTERIOR
Black Sapphire Metallic

INTERIOR
Aragon Brown

MILEAGE
25,719

Price: $62, 503

EXECUTIVE PACKAGE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE PLUS, HEAD-UP DISPLAY, SIDE & TOP VIEW CAMERAS, ACTIVE BLIND SPOT DETECTION, COMFORT ACCESS KEYLESS ENTRY, SOFT-CLOSE DOORS, CARBON FIBER TRIM, Active Blind Spot Detection, Active Driving Assistant, Adaptive Full LED Lights, Automatic High Beams, Concierge Services, Driver Assistance Plus, Executive Package, Front Ventilated Seats, Head-Up Display, Heated Rear Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, Navigation System, Rear Manual Side Window Shades, Side & Top View Cameras, Soft-Close Automatic Doors, Speed Limit Info, Wheels: 21" x 10" Fr & 21" x 11.5" Rr M Light Alloy.

Here are some questions:
1. Is the vehicle fully loaded? If not what other options should I consider?
2. What is a reasonable price to pay?
3. What are some of the big differences between the X5M and X6M?

Please respond as soon as possible because I would like to go see the vehicle today.

One more thing I forgot to add. The dealer spent $2400 for the following maintenance:

1. 4 brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires
2. State Inspection
3. 110 Point Inspection
4: New Gas Cap
5: Four-wheel alignment

I traded my 2015 X5M into the dealer last month and they gave me $75,000 CDN. Had B&O and night vision. 30,000 km.
Your price of $62,500 probably could be negotiated.
I don't believe these vehicles have self parking.
Loved my X5M, except when cornering and the squealing brakes.. Traded in for 2019 M5.

Interesting, you got a lease return that is not certified? What did the previous owner do to it? I had mine slightly modded, put all the original parts back on, then they sold it as certified.

B&O i found not to be worth the expense. Actually non of the above options are really needed.

If it were me buying, CPO with an extended warranty or I would walk. Not worth the risk.

First off, good man for buying the wife an M.
Not fully loaded, but very well spec’d and you probably won’t miss much with those options, except for maybe B&O. Both cars are beast and the biggest difference is size/room in the rear seats and trunk. Consider who needs to be in the back and what you need to haul. I had to get rid of my X6 for kids, needed room for 3 car seats, and am going with the X5M. Since it’s been sitting on the lot for a while you probably have some room to negotiate. While not CPO could look into buying an expensive extended warranty. Priced fairly good for the mileage at the dealer, but could get a few grand off unless it comes with some valuable goodies like winter tires.

Dealer probably didn’t want to spend the extra money to get it certified, probably why it’s still on the lot.

Since the car is not CPO, you can try to be negotiate more $ off the asking price or discount on extended warranty. You can build an X5M or X6M on bmwusa and see all the options you could have gotten with this car so you have an idea of how much they would be brand new. 2017 models on added wireless charging and apple car play as an option. This was not available on 2015-16 models.

Bang and Olufsen is not worth it IMO if you're paying msrp; but in the used market, it doesn't really add that much value to your car. I'd let someone take the depreciation and would look for a used one with it. It's a nice upgrade. Also has mood LED lighting at night - which the standard harman kardon does not have.

The self parking option you're referring to is park assist. The car pretty much helps you parallel park; it will automatically measure the parking spot to see if it can park, then it will guide you with the parking; the car auto steers for you and all you need to do is control the brakes.

I just recently got my '16 X5M - traded my '14 M6 GC . I'm in San Diego, so the market here is different vs your area. But if you like, I can give you more details on my purchase, etc.

I LOVE the car; actually more than my M6. Only draw back is the X5M eats even more gas.

IMO it is auto-park. If you touch ANYTHING (brake, steering, accelerator) the entire process ceases.

How long are you planning to keep the vehicle? This can greatly influence the decision to buy an extended warranty.

Just got back from my local BMW dealers. They had a 2018 X5M on the lot and a 2018 X6 with the M Sport package. Had a chance to check out the interior of both vehicles. The X5M is a beast. Very nice SUV. The X6M is nice as well. The head room in the back of the X6 is a little tight for me (I'm 6' 3").

My wife and I still undecided. Trying to justify 1 over the other. Anyone out there that have or had both vehicles, I would like to hear your opinion.

Also I found another 2015 X6M with 45,000 miles with all the options I mentioned on my first post as well as the B&O sound system and parking assistant. The price is $58,023 which seems great to me.

I plan to keep the vehicle for a least 10 or more years. My wife still has her 2005 BMW X5 that we purchased new in 2005.

There is a nice one near me, I’ve had my eye on it for a while. It’s super clean and really low miles.

Thanks for the heads up; however, I live in VA.

My wife likes these exterior colors in order...

1. Sapphire Black Metallic
2. Carbon Black Metallic
3. Azurite Black Metallic

The interior colors she likes are in order:

1. Aragon Brown Merino Leather
2. Black Merino Leather

After going to the BMW dealer today and researching online, we are leaning toward the BMW X5M vs the X6M. Any opinions?

other than a little style and interior room, the x5/x6 are identical, therefore preference.

Based on my research so far, it looks like the used X6M here is Virginia are discounted more than the X5M. I am finding better deals on the X6M than the X5M.

There may be a reason for that.

Why? Do you think the X5M has a better resell value?
