New to BMW.. 40i vs 50i
Thinking of picking up a 50i or maybe possibly a 40i. I’ve never had a BMW before. Looking at some between 30 and 50,000 miles. What types of things should I be looking for at the dealer? What things should I be steering clear from?

You’d want to post this question in the G05 section.

In my opinion the G05 is similar in most ways (interior and driving feel), a mild evolution that feels slightly more modern. I think the redesigned exterior is the biggest upgrade.

Like Vivek. stated above, you're comparing 2 different X5 generations given the year ranges you mention, not just 2 different X5 models. Sounds like you have some reading up to do!
But for quick reference... F15 - 2014-2018 G05 - 2019+ The 40i did not exist until 2019/G05 - it's a turbo-charged inline 6 whereas the 50i is a twin turbo V8. For the F15 generation the inline 6 was badged as a 35i (or 35d if diesel). |
