Climate fan noise

In the new F15 50i and noticing a fairly loud noise from the climate control fans.

Does anyone else notice this?

I think I might have this problem too. When I have my fan running (Heat or AC) in the lowest setting, it is noticeably loud.

+1. Noticed it on the ride home from dealership thought it was just a strange thing and maybe all of them sounded that way.

I'm noticing that as well too on my x5 50i. Keep on lowest setting and it's still very audible just in the center vents. Anyone approach service with this issue?

My climate fan is noisy and the noise modulates with engine speed. Is this normal? I hate it and have to run radio to cover it up.

Noisy fan or noisy air vent? if you hear mechanical sound, then it is probably the fan issue. If it is the air rushing noise, then it's the air vent by design. High speed air going through small opening will make loud rushing sound. You may open all the vents or reducing the fan speed (to level 1 or 2). Also check all cabin air filters (2 outside and one inside) to make sure they are not dirty or clogged with dust. But I have to admit, X5 F15 AC fan is loud and not moving enough air.

Opinion on the X5 climate control is best described as "mixed".

Make sure your rear climate control isn't set to something wacky.

Those that have the "noise" issue...do you also have 4-zone climate option? If you do, check to make sure the noise isn't coming from the blower in the center console for the rear passenger's vent at the rear of the center console. A rear passenger may have turned the rear controls up higher than the front?

One could also press the SYNC or ALL button then turn the driver's fan speed button down to the lowest setting to see if the noise decreases...if it does, then you've found your culprit.

BTW...geez this is an old thread...the original post was back in Dec/2013!

my middle compartment in between the front driver and passenger side is always freezing cold, it’s like a mini refrigerator with the AC on

Mark!

F15 X5 50i MY2018 41k milage, still in warranty.

Mine has this issue as well. sometimes the sound syncs with engine when rpm in the range of 1k to 2k. Only a few times, it sounds normal. I Went to dealer twice, they said it's ok and no problem needs to be fix, then I asked my friend works at dealership who's in china. He replied "This is a common issue of F15, no way to fix." He implied that this reply is from BMW official tech support.

Will mark this thread to see if there's a way to fix this annoying issue.

Good to know I'm out of warranty. Good thing I declined the diag fee for this at the dealer today. LOL

On this question, dealer sucks.

My car's warranty ends in the last week of November. before that time point, I dropped off my car at the dealer, reported two issues and one of these issues is "AC is still noisy even it's working on heating mode(I reported it's noisy back in the summer, which was working in cooling mode)".

they fixed the other problem for my car but for AC, they said it's working fine, it is noisy but it's normal, I mentioned maybe the blower is broken, and they said it is working just fine.

Now my warranty is gone, but the noise is still there, and it is really annoying, I am thinking that I can replace the blower by myself, but it is too complicated...

I would like to ask you guys that has anyone replaced this blower in a small workshop before? how much does it is cost?

Thank you.
