Lane Departure Warning Vibration
Hi All
Not sure if I have an issue here. Basically I find the vibration on the steering wheel when LDW activates to be very weak. Most of the time I find it hard to register it when it starts. In fact it seems to make an audible sound which I tend to hear more than feel the vibration. In my previous F11 I could set the vibration intensity and found it more easy to notice and more refined in operation. The F15 doesn't seem to allow the vibration intensity to be changed. Currently I'm debating turning it off as it's so lackluster and I find the noise it makes irritating Anybody got the same? Perhaps mine is faulty? |

The only auditory sound I get is from frontal collision warning. I disabled my LDW because I found it very noticeable, overly sensitive, and annoying. I like my blind spot triangles.

Hmmm I get no sound from my frontal collision warning, only the light on the dash, which doesn't do much to get my attention. I am going to have to ask dealer about that when I go in for first service in a few weeks.

It starts as red car in HUD but if you do not brake it will then make sound and then brake.

If it brakes for you, you are about to hit someone / something. If you have not experienced this yet, you are not driving aggressively. Trust me, you will know it when it kicks in, the braking is not gradual or light. |

The Driving Assistance algorithms are very complex. So much so that blind spot detection does not just indicate when a vehicle is directly, but also may be in blind spot based on your and their speed.
Similarly, I had my frontal collision warning with braking kick in last weekend when I was at least three cars from vehicle in front and it is definitely not subtle. It was as if brake pedal was floored. I am glad the person behind me was not tailing too closely because I would not have chosen to brake at the time and could have been hit. I quickly adjusted the warning off of "early" and plan to check the parameters to see if one is better suited or I will disable completely. |

The frontal collision warning only makes beeping sound and brakes for you if you are very close to the car in front of you who suddenly slows down or stops. Out of the 1 year ownership I've only experienced that once, and it's definitely not a situation you want to be in all the time

I have mine set to the middle setting. I have to get pretty close before the red car shows up on the heads up display.

I had mine set to early. Depending on speed, visual in HUD followed by auditory warning showed up both when further way at faster as well as up close at slower velocities. I did not mind the visual and auditory warnings, but did not like the braking when not as close. So, I switched mine
