My battery was changed at 20k service...dealer explained to me why and said look out when you need a new one after your plan is up. There are many threads on how the batteries work, but basically its good to take a nice long coasting drive and charge it well once a week or so.

Im going in for my 30k in October which is basically oil, rear brake pads, and fluids.

Having moved back to NY with a lot of stop-and-go traffic (I notice the traffic is just bad all the time now), I take a charger and charge up the car once a week. Testing shows my battery is in great condition (granted they just replaced it at 20k service, but I'm thinking ahead).

Plenty of battery drain gremlins in modern cars these days, many of which are active whi[e the vehicle is turned off. I use the Battery Tender product on my F15 and '12 Outback once or twice a month to keep things topped off. Takes a few minutes to hookup in the garage, and run overnight for each vehicle. Also do the same monthly for Z turn mower, Kawasaki mule, and EZGO cart.

Great product for the money.

I always lock the car even when I park inside the house as it completely shuts off all electronics.

Regardless, I might have to start charging the battery; it seems like a lot of people are doing it. What tender do you use, skeetjunkie ?
