Fineline Oak Wood vs Fineline Pure Textured Wood

Our new '16 X5 diesel mSport was delivered last week and I'm absolutely loving the exterior and interior choices on this one (vs our prior '14 X5 diesel xLine).

This time we chose the Fineline Oak Wood Trim which looks stunning next to the Mocha Nappa leather, the piano black passenger side dash area and leather dashboard. Our 2014 xLine had the Fineline Pure Textured Wood trim and after 2.5 years it has been chipped, scratched and gives everyone who rides in the truck the impression of plastic trim.

The Ceramic Controls addition on the 2016 makes the drivers cockpit look a lot more professional and high-end. Both of my X5's have had DHP so I haven't noticed any suspension differences between the mSport and the xLine, but the mSport's transmission is a lot better (and seems faster 0-60mph).

Details of this new 2016 X5 xDrive35d with pics attached:

M Sport
Space Gray Metallic
Mocha Nappa Interior Design Package
Fineline Oak Wood Trim
Ceramic Controls
Driver Assistance Package (HUD, Rear View Camera)
Surround View
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Dynamic Handling Package
Multi-Contour Seats
Space-saver Spare
Harman Kardon Sound System (2016 version sounds better than 2014 - how can that be?)
M Performance Kidney Grilles

Out of curiosity, why no LED headlights?

I drive 18,000 miles/year, of which 95% is on the freeway/interstate and mostly during the day; never even considered LED headlights as the lamps on my 2014 X5 work just great. What advantage in LED lamps do you see?

Also got 19" shoes to put my existing set of rubber on (Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2); I have a separate set of aftermarket 21" wheels/tires with Conti DWS rubber.

I compared HID vs. LED and enjoyed the light output better on LED lights. And frankly, I think they make the front end look more aggressive. It was actually the second "must have" for me, right after the M Sport kit.

Very nicely spec'd X5, by the way. Any other pics?

Congrats on the fine looking vehicle.

I do a lot of driving on less than lit roads at night on some trips. I've done the recoding to LED lights to get the glare-free high beams and it's a world of difference.

However from day-to-day use, it's not really that important.

How do you like the Dynamic Handling Package? Do you notice any better handling when driving in normal conditions (comfort mode), or is it more noticeable in Sport mode? I'm in the verge of deciding to get DHP for a 2017 35d, will have to make the call today . Do you notice any improvement in uneven road surfaces, potholes etc?
