Can you mix BMW blue and new green coolant?

Just found out my dealer added/used the new green BMW HT12/LC18 to top off my MY15 35d during the recent EGR recall work while checking coolant level in expansion tank and coolant color is green and not very clear. In the past, blue BMW G48/LC87 coolant was there and pretty clear, and I always used BMW blue G48/LC87. Should the mixed coolant be flushed and replaced either BMW G48/LC87 or HT12/LC18, so don't need worry about the mix may has/cause issue down the road?

Based on info from the BMW TIS...the old blue G48 & the new green (or magenta) HT12 can be mixed. Not sure what color you come up with...but they claim to be compatible.

What is NOT compatible is the blue i3 coolant or the magenta G30 coolant.

Thank you for the quick response, Qsilver7. Any ideal what ! means by green bottle of HT12 at left/lower in the picture? Also, looking the 2 tables, for our F15s, 1 table shows both can be used after 01.07.2018, but the other shows only blue G48 can be used in before 03.06.2018.

By compatible, definitely it means you can use either of them, but would mixing/topping them in cooling system OK like my dealer did?

Just want to get to the bottom of this, to make sure we do the right things for our Bimmers!

It should be fine and approved by BMW to mix H12 and G48.

I actually don't know why the illustration has an exclamation point next to the HT12 coolants. Perhaps its due to the two different colors (the magenta was short lived)...or indicates that BMW went with something new...and not to get spinned into a tizzy if you open your coolant fill cap and see something other than the original BMW blue coolant. Trust me, many owners got twisted with worry when they didn't see the old blue coolant in their systems.

In regards to the two tables...the top table has a date which indicates when HT12 was introduced & used on those particular models. Prior to that date...the lower table was used which indicates those models came from the factory with the old G48 blue coolant. The tables are just representing what color/type of coolant was used in your BMW at its time of production.

But as stated, both the G48 and HT12 have the correct "inhibitors" for your BMW and are compatible.
