End-of-warranty complimentary checkup?
I got email to schedule a complimentary chekup at dealership. I'm guessing my extra CPO year is ending in January and that's why I got this email.
Does anyone know if that checkup is free or not? Also, any chance suspension components are covered by CPO? I developed some creaking noise at passenger front side. Thank you P.S. They only list visual inspection of suspension lol. I doubt they can find anything with suspension with only visual inspection. Bad suspension parts might look perfect but will have excessive play when properly checked. |

Its free. I'd take a bottle of wine for your SA (if you have a regular one) and ask them to document any issues. Even if diagnostics come back ok, they can always cover things that you had complained initially during the warranty.

I brought my car in for a free check-up, they replaced a bunch of stuff, resurfaced my warped rotors and got new brake pads, some crankshaft seal that was leaking, oil pan gasket, new wheel center caps, and replaced my iDrive head unit. I had problem with a suspension noises, they replaced the lower control arms and my left front wheel bearing, but this is before the warranty expiring soon.

What was the other term they called it... Pre-Sale inspection? I used the same SA for the past several years and he's always having the tech look for other stuff when we bring in our cars. I know the foreman also so that helps as well. They even told me to bring it in towards the end of Warranty/CPO coverage for inspections so that they can fix/replace anything that you may not already know about.

Thanks guys, I'm going to try schedule it then. I am a bit worried because my car will be a nightmare for them and then possibly for me too (when they will deny me warranty work): m-sport body kit self installed, x5m E70 brakes, tune, x5m f85 air filters, muffler delete lol - and I can't reinstall everything back to stock just for a dealership visit. I'll probably let them know not to worry too much about extra stuff except suspension and power-train inspection.
